Taylor Armstrong Says 'Real Housewives' May Have Saved Her Life

Shortly before he committed suicide, Taylor Armstrong's late husband Russell said the breakdown of his marriage was caused by the intolerable stresses of appearing on 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' -- "This show has literally pushed us to the limit."Now Taylor says quite the opposite. In fact, not only does she allege that her marriage was abusive long before the camera crew moved in, she believes that 'The Real Housewives' actually may have saved her life.
Yesterday Armstrong told KTLA-TV's morning show that "If the cameras were not in my life, there's a good chance I wouldn't be sitting here today because a lot of domestic violence situations end in murder-suicide versus just suicide."

'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Season 2 premiere is still slated to air next week, despite being overshadowed by the real-life tragedy of Russell Armstrong's death.The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health published Armstrong's death certificate yesterday, which confirmed that he hanged himself.
Now, it's been reported that Bravo is to air a special episode of the reality show addressing his suicide.
According to 'Entertainment Weekly,' the network has shot interviews with cast members Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, Kyle and Kim Richards and Adrienne Maloof.
However, Armstrong's estranged wife Taylor is said to have refrained from taking part.

Following the suicide of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Taylor Armstrong's estranged husband Russell, Danielle Staub, former star of 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' is speaking out about the pressures of the cameras.Staub said her time on the hit Bravo series led her to consider suicide on more than one occasion.
"I was very close to taking my own life -- not just on one occasion -- it's been several times," Staub told Entertainment Tonight.

Prior to his apparent suicide, 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Taylor Armstrong's husband said he felt the pressures of being a reality TV husband.In an interview with People, Russell, who hanged himself on Aug. 15, revealed the pressures of a crumbling marriage and financial problems got to be too much, especially when coupled with TV cameras.
"It got really overwhelming," Russell told People a few weeks before his death. "When you get a TV show involved and all the pressure, it just takes it to a whole new level. ... We were pushed to extremes."

Russell Armstrong, estranged husband to 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Taylor Armstrong, was found dead Mon., Aug. 15. According to TMZ, Russell hanged himself.Taylor filed for divorce from Russell, 47, in July after claiming he physically abused her.
"I felt like I was dying inside," Taylor told People about her marriage. "Now, there's some sense of peace."
"Did I push her? Yes, maybe things happened in the heat of the moment, but it was during a time in our lives that was not characteristic of who we were," Russell told People in July. "This show has literally pushed us to the limit."
