"At the idol working on the LA episode that you will see thursday. Tomorrow is austin. Make sure u watch the producers apology at the top :)"

On his radio show today, Seacrest dished out more information, telling listeners, "There's a black card that starts the show tonight. It starts with, 'American Idol would like to apologize for last week's outrageous behavior by Steven Tyler ...''"

It's unclear what this "outrageous behavior" entails, though Seacrest promised "it will all add up and make sense."

Ryan Seacrest Talks 'X Factor' on 'Kimmel'Ryan Seacrest says that while he's confident 'American Idol' and 'The X Factor' can coexist, he's also sure that Simon Cowell will rub any 'X Factor' success in his face. "He'll be the first to congratulate himself on his new ratings by sending me a fax of the ratings to my house the day after his new series premieres," Seacrest says on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC).

The 'Idol' host wishes Cowell the best in his new endeavor. Jimmy Kimmel asks, "Do you hope his [show] does better than yours?" Seacrest replies, "Jimmy, it's been a long segment. The 'American Idol' Judges Have No Idea How Long It Takes Jennifer Lopez to Get Ready (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 11th 2011 2:31AM
'American Idol' Judges, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'The new gang at 'American Idol' has been making the press circuit like it's a brand new show. With only Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest remaining from last season, that may be more true than it seems for this tenth season. Jackson and Seacrest joined new judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM on NBC) to talk about the new season.

Jay Leno apparently ran sort on the tough questions, because after asking the gimme question f what they're looking for in talent this year, he resorted to asking which of them took the longest to get ready for a taping.

After pointing at one another, Jackson set the record straight about Lopez. "Honestly, we don't know about Jennifer ... Somehow she gets ready at home or somewhere."

Ryan Seacrest, 'Good Morning America'Ryan Seacrest may be making the promotional rounds for his 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Even With Ryan Seacrest,' but surely he can't expect to talk long without talks returning to (still barely) television's number one show: 'American Idol.'

He appeared on 'Good Morning America' (Weekdays, 7AM on ABC), and had nothing but high anticipation for the forthcoming new season, and new additions to the judging panel.

"I had them come over for dinner the night before we did the first tape day, and we all just hit it off," Seacrest revealed. "There's a lot of cameraderie." He went on to explain how Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez are bringing that artist angle to the show, which had been missing this past season. And Randy Jackson?

John Krasinksi Dresses Up As Spider-Man, and Fights With a Bearded Batman (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 10th 2010 6:25AM
John Krasinksi Dresses Up As Spider-Man, and Fights With a Bearded BatmanAs you may have heard already, the superhero Spider-Man is generally considered to be a friendly neighborhood kind of guy. But this wasn't necessarily the case on the new 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC).

Jimmy was supposed to have Ryan Seacrest as his guest, but Seacrest wasn't available, so Jimmy went looking for the next best thing: His pal John Krasinski. The two men are neighbors in Los Angeles, so the talk show host knew where to find Mr. Krasinski.

But wait. ... Where would you look for John Krasinski? If you said "he'd probably be hanging out on the streets and begging for loose change while dressed up in a Spider-Man costume," then you are correct! Granted, this was a little odd. But even more strangely, Jimmy's "friendly neighbor"' wasn't very friendly when he was wearing the red-and-blue outfit.

Ryan Seacrest Could Get His Own Channel, But Doesn't He Already Have One?

by Jean Bentley, posted Oct 8th 2010 2:00PM
Ryan SeacrestAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, reality TV overlord Ryan Seacrest is "in early talks" to get his own channel.

Interesting, because we thought he already had one: It's called E!. Does he really need another?

The man's presence is already felt all over the network: he hosts 'E! News,' pretty much all of their red carpet specials, and he created the network's prized reality hit 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians.' He also created 'Denise Richards: It's Complicated,' but that's neither here nor there. Plus, what would an episode of 'The Soup' be without a few cracks at his height?

In his free time (what free time?), the 'Crest hosts a daily radio show, 'American Idol,' 'American Top 40' and 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.'

Here's the top tidbits TV Squad learned at this morning's press conference.

Who's the new Simon Cowell?
"We're not looking to replace Simon," insisted Fox executive Mike Darnell. 'Idol' producer Nigel Lythgoe added, "It isn't about role playing. It's about being yourself. That was Simon's character and [the new judges] are going to stay true to their characters."

Larry King Talks Life After CNN, Sings 'Poker Face' with Ryan Seacrest

by Ryan McKee, posted Sep 3rd 2010 2:30PM
Known for his, um, hard-hitting interviews, Larry King got a taste of his own medicine when bulldog journalist Ryan Seacrest turned the interrogation lights around. The retiring CNN veteran fielded tough questions on 'Dancing With The Stars' and possibly taking over for Dr. Laura on Seacrest's radio show Thursday.

"I just think it's embarrassing," King said of the possibility of appearing on 'DWTS.' "I'm not a dancer but my wife I think ... I'm telling them now ask her."

As for taking over Dr. Laura's gig: "This advice thing, I couldn't," he said, then joked about what a potential show of his would be like. "People call in with problems, I help them. Because I've had every known problem!"

Finally, Seacrest put King to the ultimate test: Could he finish the lyrics to "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga, a song we hear is popular with the kids these days? Watch the video on the next page for the surprising answer. Or don't, if you don't want to have nightmares for weeks.

In the episode, 'The Final Proof,' Kelly and Matt are set to go on a couples game show, but after Kelly gets too nervous Donna has to step in. Much to Kelly's surprise, Donna does surprisingly well on the 'Newlyweds'-esque game show.

Ryan SeacrestAnother day, another non-answer about 'American Idol' from one of the show's stars.

Ryan Seacrest
told the Associated Press at 'Idol' auditions in New Jersey yesterday that it could be weeks until the entire judging lineup is confirmed, and that he doesn't know many people will be sitting at the table. Though there are two vacant seats to fill -- both Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres are officially out -- the show's producers could choose to return to the old three-judge lineup for the tenth season.

'American Idol' on 'So You Think You Can Dance' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 28th 2010 11:50PM
'American Idol' on 'So You Think You Can Dance'We had an exciting live show tonight on 'So You Think You Can Dance' (Wed., 8PM ET on Fox). Due to the odd results of last week's show, not one, but two dancers were up for elimination on this week's episode. But that all paled next to judge Nigel Lythgoe's weird slip of the tongue.

[Spoiler alert.]

Nigel may be returning as the executive producer on the upcoming season of 'American Idol.' And even after watching Lauren and Allyson's pretty stunning performance, he still seemed pretty distracted by the thought of that. When host Cat Deeley asked him for his reaction to Lauren's dance, Nigel seemed a little confused. He praised Lauren, and agreed that her routine was "powerful," but then said: "This is the first time we've ever seen [anything like] it on 'American Idol.'" Whoops! Wrong show, Nigel! Mr. Lythgoe then swiftly tried to recover.

By the way, rumor has it that if Nigel takes over as producer on 'Idol,' he will eliminate all of the current judges, and will replace them. Two of the possible replacements are -- Elton John and Justin Timberlake. What do you folks think? Does this sound like a good idea to you?
