'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' Reunion: Sabrina and Salem Make 'Magic' (VIDEO)

by Crystal Bell, posted Dec 10th 2011 2:00PM
sabrina the teenage witch funny or die melissa joan hartFile this under: the greatest thing you'll see all day. Eight years after Melissa Joan Hart said goodbye to Sabrina Spellman and her witchy ways, the former 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' star spoofed her popular spellbinding role in a new video for Funny Or Die -- starring her former co-star, Salem the cat.

In the hilarious clip, the actress reunites with Salem (voiced by Nick Bakay) for lunch to catch up. But, then Salem -- always the bad influence -- convinces Hart to embrace her dormant inner-Sabrina and perform a little magic ... and that when Melissa loses it. She morphs into a power-hungry witch, attacking the restaurant's guests with "magic!"

And when a little boy tries to combat Melissa's witchy ways with the 'Harry Potter' defense spell, "Expelliarmus," the actress disarms him with her own clever counter-attack.

Melissa Joan Hart Remembers Being 'Sabrina' and Salem, Her 'Magical Pussy' (VIDEO)

Melissa Joan Hart, 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson'If we were to meet Melissa Joan Hart, we'd be inclined to ask her about 'Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.' It was this signature role that cemented her as a favorite of a generation. But, according to Hart on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS), it's actually "a little bit" annoying.

So we'll just ask about her new show 'Melissa & Joey' instead. Only that one doesn't feature Salem, her talking cat. Hart equated her talking to a cat on 'Sabrina' to Craig Ferguson talking to his skeleton robot sidekick Geoff Peterson.

"That's my magical pussy," she said of Salem, but then wondered if she could say that on television. Ferguson innocently indicated he knew of no other meaning for her words, but later when she left out the word "magical" they censored her.

Melissa Joan Hart Does a Sorority Girl Rap on 'Melissa & Joey' (VIDEO)

Melissa Joan Hart Does a Sorority Girl Rap on 'Melissa & Joey'The series 'Melissa & Joey' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC Family) is a conscious flashback to the way comedy shows used to be: multiple cameras, filmed in front of a live studio audience, with a loud laugh track. And to complete the "old-timey" feel, the sitcom features Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence -- stars of '90s shows like 'Sabrina, the Teenage Witch' and 'Blossom' -- as the non-cleverly named title couple.

The new episode centers around Joey's life as a male nanny, or "Manny." Joey is worried that his somewhat humiliating job is cramping his dating style. Enter Liz: Melissa's sexy former sorority sister. Things are suddenly starting to look up for Joey.

'Melissa & Joey' - Television As a Metaphor For a Dude's Private Parts (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 17th 2010 11:50PM
'Melissa & Joey' - Television As a Metaphor for a Dude's Private PartsWe get to have a slightly "retro" TV experience on 'Melissa & Joey' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC Family). The new sitcom features Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence; stars of such vintage '90s shows as 'Blossom' and 'Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.' But now, the pair are all grown up, and must cope with more adult problems.

On the new episode, Joey must deal with the aftereffects of his ruined marriage. His ex-wife Tiffany has pretty much taken everything -- everything. Joey is basically left with the contents of a small cardboard box. Among the items that his wife took with her is Joey's 52-inch TV. Now, Joey has almost nothing left.

Melissa points out that Joey is letting Tiffany stomp all over him. And she uses his loss of "inches" -- from a 52-inch television to zero inches -- as a metaphor for Joey's, um, "manhood." Basically, she's saying that Joey has shrunken down to nothing. Will Joey be able to get his lost "inches" back?*

(*You guys get what we're talking about here, right?)

True Blood: The First Taste

Anna Paquin(S01E02) "Angelina Adopts a Vampire baby." - Cover of a tabloid

After all the comments I got about last week's review, I feel that I have to address some issues.

The first one is the books that this show is based on. I understand that they are popular and without the series there would be no show but I haven't read them nor do I have any intention of doing so. My job is to review the television show True Blood and unless they introduce a character named Charlaine Harris, this is the last time you will see that name in my review.

Saturday Morning: 1970 - VIDEOS

by Richard Keller, posted Jun 28th 2008 10:01AM

The Groovie GooliesOn a cursory glance at the 1970-71 Saturday morning schedule, one would think it was another year of classic children's fare. Yet, on closer examination, one would notice something else about the schedule. It was a bit dull. Oh, there were certainly some classics that premiered during this time -- many of them remembered to this day -- but the rest of the shows were somewhat forgettable.

It was almost like the networks and production studios had run out of steam when it came to Saturday mornings and weren't sure what to do. Understandable, since strict network standards as well as lobby groups like Action for Children's Television (ACT) put a stranglehold on what could and could not be shown. The result was a mix of animated spin-offs and live-action series that were a bit on the bland side. It would be a trend that continued through the first few years of the 1970s.

So, if you have your bowl of Cap'n Crunch on-hand, let's journey back to 1970.
