A&E house-flipper accused of fraud
by Anna Johns, posted Jun 6th 2007 3:37PM
A&E has pulled all re-runs of Flip This House that feature Atlanta businessman Sam Leccima, who is charged with fraud regarding the homes he "flips". He's accused of taking investors' money and not doing anything with it (investors came pouring in after he appeared on television). Plus, he's accused of all sorts of little antics to make himself look good on television. Buyers claim his fixes to the homes were only temporary patch jobs. And, Leccima is also accused of getting his friends to pose as potential buyers so he could slap a 'Sold' sign on his flipped homes, some of which he didn't even own (wha?!?). He also doesn't even have a real estate license because it was revoked by the state of Georgia in 2005. Before his lawyer shut him up, Leccima gave an interview that makes him sound like a total slimeball. He said, "Ask anybody who works in television how a reality show is made and you'll find that ours was a very typical approach." A&E denies any knowledge of Leccima's alleged improprieties and has wiped its hands of him.
