'Sandra' Palin Gives Her Thoughts on GOP Candidate 'Herb' Cain (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 6th 2011 4:30AM
'The Colbert Report'There's no such thing as a wrong opinion, but it's still important to gather as many facts as you can about the topic you're discussing before you go into it on a news program, or at the very least get their name right. Sarah Palin clearly missed that step in the process on a clip shown on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central).

In talking about GOP candidate Herman Cain, who shot to the top in a tie with Mitt Romney in the latest polls, she kept referring to him as 'Herb' Cain. "Herb Cain," she said. "He came from a working class family."

"Yes, Herb Cain is from a working class family," Colbert agreed. "I wonder where Herman Cain comes from? Someone should really ask Sandra Palin."

Lewis Black on Why He Won't Do Jokes About Sarah Palin (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 5th 2011 5:27AM
Lewis Black, 'The Green Room with Paul Provenza'Lewis Black is never afraid to speak his mind. He usually does so in a very loud voice and with very emphatic hand gestures. It's kind of hard not to notice him. But as he explained on 'The Green Room with Paul Provenza' (Thu., 11PM ET on Showtime), he told his audiences he wouldn't make jokes about Sarah Palin, even though she "was like for me a mother lode."

It must have come as quite a shock, considering Black's very open liberal stance and left-leaning viewpoints. Why would he avoid a target that other comedians have been piling on for years? Especially as he tends to get very political and cerebral in his rants already. She's tailor-made for his point of view.

"I could not live in this world if I believed she was a real person," he explained of Palin. "And so, I have for the entire time that she's been around, treated her as a hallucination."

Roseanne Barr Announces She's Running for President (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 5th 2011 5:19AM
Roseanne Barr, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'Roseanne Barr chose 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC) to make her big announcement for one reason. "I decided since you're the one who got Arnold Schwarzenegger elected as governor of California, I wanted to make my announcement here on your show," she told Jay Leno.

Then she turned to the crowd. "My announcement is that I am running for president of the United States," and then she added, "I'm totally serious."

She said that Sarah Palin running for President is what made her think she could do it, but Leno was quick to remind her that Palin hasn't officially put her hat in the ring yet.

Colbert Finds Similarities Between 'Harry Potter' and Sarah Palin's 'The Undefeated' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 19th 2011 4:08AM
'The Colbert Report'It was a big weekend at the box office, and no one was more excited than Stephen Colbert. He opened 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), by saying, "I was totally geeking out this weekend to see the epic adventure of the eternal child hero in the adorable glasses who is mankind's only hope: Sarah Palin."

Colbert went on to draw some comparisons between the 'Harry Potter' movies and Palin's 'The Undefeated.'

"These two would make a great double feature, 'cause both movies are about outsiders plucked from obscurity by an old wizard," Colbert said, putting up a picture of Dumbledore and John McCain side-by-side.

Bristol Palin Talks Virginity, Chin Surgery, Mom's Presidential Ambitions (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 27th 2011 1:40PM
Bristol Palin on 'Good Morning America'Sarah Palin hasn't announced that she's running for the presidency, but her daughter Bristol Palin said Monday on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC) that if it does happen, it would be a good thing for America. Bristol, promoting her new book, 'Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far,' also talked about more controversial topics with Robin Roberts, including her memoir's claims that Levi Johnston "stole" her virginity and her recent corrective jaw surgery.

Pressed by Roberts about her allegations against Johnston, Bristol clarified that she wasn't accusing him of date-rape, but called losing her virginity a "foolish decision." She also addressed her recent jaw surgery, which caused a mini-media firestorm several weeks ago. Bristol put the procedure in the same category as getting braces or contact lenses.

Ted Nugent 'Loves' Sarah Palin, But Wouldn't Vote for Her for President (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Jan 6th 2011 3:40PM
Appearing on 'Anderson Cooper 360' (weekdays, 10 PM ET on CNN) rocker, hunter and outspoken Tea Party supporter Ted Nugent heaped praise upon Sarah Palin, but also said she hasn't yet convinced him she has what it takes to be president.

"(Palin's) coming from the street, she's coming from the we-the-people rank-and-file, she makes sense when she talks, she says all the right things, she's sincere, she's knowledgeable , she's articulate, she's damn good-looking, plus she kills moose, how can you go wrong?" Nugent gushed.

However, when Cooper pressed Nugent on whether Palin would make a good president, Nugent balked.

"It's too early to tell. Right know, if we had a vote, I couldn't vote for Sarah Palin. And I love her. I love her madly, and I respect her."

When somebody as naturally sympathetic to Palin as The Nuge doesn't believe he can vote for her, maybe it's time we stop talking about the former half-governor of Alaska as a viable presidential candidate.

GOP Strategist Ed Rollins Blasts Sarah Palin For Comparing Herself To Ronald Reagan (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Dec 2nd 2010 6:00PM
Ed Rollins knew Ronald Reagan, having run his 1984 Presidential campaign in which Reagan won 49 states. And Ed Rollins wants Sarah Palin to know she's not anything like Ronald Reagan, who the former Alaska governor often compares herself to.

Appearing on 'John King USA' (weekdays , 7 PM ET on CNN) Rollins discussed an article he wrote recently in which he said to Palin, "I would have hoped among the five colleges you attended that you would have learned a little history. And I can tell you being governor of the most populous state is a lot tougher than being governor of one of the least populous ones."

"Her whole rhetoric now is Ronald Reagan did this, so therefor I can do that," Rollins explained to King, after King had showed his audience quotes from Rollins' article about Palin. "She ain't Ronald Reagan. Reagan was a very significant person by the time he ended up running for president."

It seems safe to assume that Rollins has now joined the rapidly expanding group of republicans who would like to see Palin stay in Alaska. (Or in the cyberworld of Facebook and Twitter.)

Joe Biden Admits He 'Likes' Sarah Palin on 'The View' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Apr 22nd 2010 2:30PM
'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) proved itself a (sort of) force at bridging the partisan divide today when Vice President Joe Biden admitted that he "likes" Sarah Palin, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck conceded that Biden is a "pretty cool guy."

"Look, if you meet her, she is a charming person. It's hard not to like her," Biden said of Palin after being asked to explain her appeal. "I say this and people look at me like I'm kidding -- I like her." But, Biden isn't so forthcoming when Hasselbeck asks if the Obama camp considers Palin a legitimate threat in the 2012 elections. Instead, he defers answering.

Tina Fey Does Sarah Palin on 'SNL'Comedienne Tina Fey does such an excellent job of parodying Sarah Palin that sometimes, it's tough to tell the difference between them. And one of the new shows on the fictional network was: "Hey Journalist, I Gotcha!" In the show, Palin/Fey strikes back against the journalists who roasted her during the 2008 presidential campaign.

'Saturday Night Live' - 'Tina Fey/Justin Bieber' Recap

by Annie Wu, posted Apr 11th 2010 3:49PM
tina fey
(S35E18) Tina Fey gives hope to all nerdy funny girls out there. You may be frumpy and strange now, girls, but all you have to do is work really hard, be yourself, create/write/star in a hit show with Alec Baldwin and become super-famous. Then you will finally be able to soothe the flame of self-hate this is currently raging within you. This is the only option to escape your ugly duckling phase. Sorry if you were convinced otherwise.

All right, seriously, this was a solid episode. It felt like Fey had a strong hand in what kind of material was being produced; most of the sketches worked very well for her. This was also the first time I had heard Justin Bieber. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

After the Oprah-calypse: Who Can Fill Oprah's Seat?

by Stephanie Earp, posted Apr 6th 2010 11:58PM

Rumor has it that Rosie O'Donnell is being set up as Oprah's replacement when the Daytime Queen retires from her eponymous show in 2011. At least that's how the industry gossips put it. The truth is that while Rosie is planning a talk show to launch when the Oprah set goes dark, it's being produced by a different company and will probably run on cable, not on ABC.

But who can resist speculating about who could replace Oprah Winfrey? Since Oprah announced that her show would be ending its 25-year run, a short list of possible candidates has included Ellen DeGeneres, Rachael Ray, Martha Stewart, Sarah Palin, Tyra Banks and even Michelle Obama. But I think Oprah is irreplaceable. Sure, you could give another woman her time-slot, but in the world of daytime talk, time-slots are meaningless. You live or die on your own ability to capture the public imagination.
