'Community' Cast Says Goodbye ... For Now (VIDEO)
by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 7th 2011 3:30PM
We're going to miss 'Community.' Yes, NBC has said it will be back, "later," but that doesn't take the sting away.In addition to the next new episode (Thurs., Dec. 8, 8PM ET on NBC) the cast teamed with College Humor for a sort of "Goodbye ... for now" video.
Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) says Greendale is closing down for a bit because of an attendance problem *cough*Nielsen families*cough* and a grease fire.
"But while we're away, we hope you won't forget all the great things Greendale has to offer," Dean Pelton says in the video.
What are these "great things"? Find out in the video below.
'Community': Show Your Support and Goatee Yourself!
by Chris Harnick, posted Nov 16th 2011 11:55AM
The best way to show your support for 'Community' is to watch the show when it airs on Thursdays at 8PM ET on NBC, preferably with somebody who has a Nielsen box. Another great way? Goatee yourself on social media! There are many fan campaigns taking off -- like the We Love 'Community' Tumblr, Occupy NBC Twitter and the 'Community' Twibbon -- and we thought the best way to show support besides actually watching (which we already do of course!) would be to pay homage to one of the best episodes of the season, 'Remedial Chaos Theory.' Now, with the help of Adobe, you can join the evil study group.
Save the goatee file below and throw it on your photos for Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. to show NBC your support. While you're at it, give Maureen Ryan's open letter about saving Greendale a read and watch 'Remedial Chaos Theory' below!
Save Greendale! An Open Letter to the Head of NBC Regarding 'Community's' Future
by Maureen Ryan, posted Nov 15th 2011 12:40PM
The news that 'Community' has been benched for an indeterminate amount of time came like a punch in the gut on Monday.Wait, what? Why am I, of all people, lamenting this very dark timeline for the low-rated NBC comedy? I'm not known to be one of 'Community's' most vociferous advocates.
Because the best part of this job is tapping into people's passions, and when I wrote about how much I loved 'Remedial Chaos Theory,' a wildly inventive and fantastically fun October episode of the show, I got a ton of feedback from 'Community' fans who were excited to share lists of their favorite episodes of the show.
Maybe 'Community' hasn't been my cup of tea every single week, but I absolutely love how much people adore it, and in a perfect world, the TV landscape offers range of shows that a wide variety of people wholeheartedly love, whatever those show's occasional wobbles.
That's why we need a Save Greendale campaign, which should not only involve felt beards but also letters to NBC (and if you have further ideas on how to save the show, please share them below). Here's my open letter to Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment:
