Senator Scott Brown Did 'Cosmo' Centerfold to Pay for Law School (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Feb 21st 2011 3:45PM
Political differences aside, all the ladies of 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) agree Republican Senator Scott Brown is hot. (Whoopi Goldberg last year said he "rang [her] bell.")With Brown seated on the 'View' couch, images from his moment as a 'Cosmopolitan' centerfold flashed up on the screen behind him. Sherri Shepherd asked why he posed nearly naked for the magazine.
"I basically had nothing ... I needed to pay for law school. I wanted to be a lawyer. The opportunity came along. I did it. I don't regret it," Brown said, his reasoning similar to many a Playboy Playmate's (minus the law school perhaps). "I never would have been here with you guys, ultimately."
Shepherd then asked whether doing the photo spread hindered his being taken seriously, as often happens when women pose nude. "It was 30 years ago, and I'm a lieutenant colonel in the military [now]." And given he won the late Ted Kennedy's Senate seat, evidently plenty of Americans take him seriously.
Scott Brown Thought About Buying and Burning Down the Childhood Home He Was Abused In (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Feb 21st 2011 6:50AM
In Scott Brown's new book, 'Against All Odds,' the Massachusetts Senator reveals that he was physically abused by a succession of stepfathers, and sexually abused by a camp counselor.Promoting the book on '60 Minutes' (Sun., 7PM ET on CBS), he spoke to Leslie Stahl about how he reacted when he learned that the house he had lived in with one of his abusive stepfathers, Larry, was up for sale.
"I heard that not many years ago Larry's house came up for sale and you actually thought about buying it," Stahl said.
"I actually called the realtor and went in and took the tour and relived where everything was to make sure I wasn't kind of dreaming," Brown explained. "As I left I said 'Man, I wish I had the money, I'd just buy this thing and burn it down'."
Brown also told Stahl that his troubled childhood has made him tougher, and prepared him for his life in politics.

Jon Stewart appeared on 'The O'Reilly Factor' (weeknights, 8PM and 11PM ET on FNC) last night, and was given a little what-for on how he presents Fox News on 'The Daily Show.' After some frightening finger-pointing by Bill O'Reilly, Stewart finally conceded a few things. "Fox News is the most passionate and sells the clearest narrative of any news organization, if that's how ... are you still referring to it in that manner?" said Stewart.
O'Reilly answered, "Right, that's how the poll referred to it. Nobody had any problem with it. Only you."

He Did It: Leno Books Scott Brown
by Lisa Armstrong, posted Jan 26th 2010 11:25AM
Until last week, Scott Brown was a little known state senator who drove an old pick up truck; this Thursday, he's going to be on 'The Jay Leno Show' via satellite for the Q&A segment '10@10,' according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Republican Brown won the U.S. Senate seat held by Senator Edward Kennedy for over 50 years, beating Attorney General Martha Coakley (D) in an upset last Tuesday.
But, while he may have been relatively unknown in the world of politics, Brown -- and his family -- have had a fair amount of media exposure. Brown won Cosmopolitan Magazine's 'America's Sexiest Man' Contest and posed nearly nude for the magazine in 1982. His daughter, Ayla, was a semi-finalist on season 5 of 'American Idol,' and his wife, Gail, appeared, bikini-clad, in a 1984 music video for song by Digney Fingus called 'The Girl With The Curious Hand.'

If you missed Jon Stewart's impersonation of Keith Olbermann - calling him out on the comments he made about new Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown and other politicians and pundits - here it is. It's pretty funny (and accurate). Olbermann's response? "It was a little bit of a rip-off of the Affleck thing, but overall I'd give it a B-."
