Welcome back to "AI Aftermath," where we explore Idol's past. Each week, as one more American Idol hopeful is eliminated from the competition, we take a look back at contestants past who were eliminated in the same week. We'll examine how they did on the show and what they've been up to since their eliminations. In honor of Brooke White's elimination last week we'll be looking at other fifth place finishers.

Bad performances on 'American Idol' aren't just limited to the audition room.

In just seven seasons, we've seen over a handful of performances bad enough to shut down any karaoke bar in the country -- everything from Carmen Rasmusen's 'Can't Fight the Moonlight' to Jon Peter Lewis' 'A Little Less Conversation.'

Unauthorized Idol DVD claims show is rigged

American Idol JudgesA new DVD, American Idol: Unauthorized, takes aim at the Idol juggernaut, interviewing fans, critics, experts (in what, I'm not sure), and past contestants in an attempt to dig up and reveal behind-the-scene scandals and scoops.

I haven't viewed the doc, but according to this review, there's quite a bit of sour grapes whining coming from past Idol rejects. Scott Savol (Season 4) claims creative editing made him appear "lazy." Corey Clark (Season 2) whines about not getting a free hairstylist. And Julia Demato (Season 2) complains that some contestants were given more attention from vocal coaches than others.
