by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 24th 2009 11:33AM
There's a lot of news coming out of Comic-Con already, and one piece of news for Dexter fans is the debut of the season four trailer.

But that's not the only Dexter news. Showtime also announced that they are making a prequel to the show. A cartoon prequel titled Early Cuts, It will be a 12-episode, web-only series, but Michael C. Hall will indeed do the voice.

Do you have Heroes fatigue, too?

by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 8th 2009 2:16PM
heroesAs Bob wrote the other day, NBC has assured fans that Heroes will be back next season. Isn't that great? Well, no, not to me. I would like to assure NBC that I have had it with Heroes. I'm exhausted and fed up. Do you feel like me? Do you have Heroes fatigue?

The changes have been detrimental to the original premise, ruining what was once the most exciting new TV show on the air since Lost. Quite simply, I don't like the new "book"; I don't like the characters that have been mangled beyond recognition; I don't like all the story lines that were dropped in favor of this new paradigm that has the government hunting down Matt and Peter and the other familiar heroes and treating them like terrorists. At the end of the last episode, I just felt bad about Heroes. What have they done to my show?

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season four - An early look

by Jonathan Toomey, posted Sep 11th 2008 11:29AM
(L-R): Rob McElhenney as Mac, David Hornsby as Rickety Cricket, and Glenn Howerton as Dennis
You'd have thought that after 32 episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (premieres on FX, next Thursday, 9/18 at 10PM) that Mac, Dennis, Dee, Charlie, and Frank would have tackled just about anything you can think of that's offensive. They've hit on underage drinking, Nazis, sex offenders, dumpster babies, religion, retardation, homosexuality, and homeless people. Well I'm here to tell you that it's far from over. There's still plenty of off-color material for these five fools to rape (considering the context... I think that is the right word) and it isn't stopping with this season, which will run for 13 episodes. FX president John Landgraf has confirmed that 39 more episodes will follow. But I'm getting ahead of myself. My thoughts on the season four premiere are after jump.

Bones: Yanks in the UK (seson premiere)

by Richard Keller, posted Sep 3rd 2008 10:08PM

The Squints and Doctor Sweets

(S04E01) Hullo Guv! Welcome to the fourth series premiere of Bones. It has been a summer of anger and anticipation for most fans of the show. Anger, as many felt creator Hart Hanson bollixed the whole thing up by making Zack Addy a bit potty. Anticipation, because those same fans are curious to see how Hanson and his writers will fill the gap and how the rest of the blokes at the Jeffersonian will adjust. And, of course, there's also the unanswered question as to the state of Bones and Booth's relationship: will they shag or not this season?

None of those questions were answered in this two-hour series premiere, althouth Zack's fate was briefly mentioned. What we did get was a trip to Londontown by Temperance and Seeley (hence, the British slang), and some significant relationship changes amongst the Squints. So, grab a pint, some fish n' chips, and your favorite duck, and let's begin.

So You Think You Can Dance: Top 4 Revealed

by Kristin Sample, posted Aug 1st 2008 9:00AM
(S04E21) Nigel told the final six that while they were getting plenty of applause and adulation on the show, they would have to get used to rejection if they continue on this career path. He advised that they use the rejection to propel them forward. But, the final six shouldn't feel too bad because each one of them got over a million votes going into this results show.

And the stakes are even higher going into the finale. Adam Shankman has added a role as a featured dancer in his new movie to the winner's prize package.

So let's see who will be battling it out next Thursday on So You Think You Can Dance.

The Supernatural Panel - Comic-Con Report

by Richard Keller, posted Jul 29th 2008 12:01PM

The cast of Supernatural at Comic-Con 2008

For most of my time at Comic-Con the TV show panels had a fairly diverse audience, with an equal amount of men and women. However, during the Sunday morning panels for Smallville and Supernatural I noticed a significant female shift in the audience. This was definitely prominent with Supernatural. Of course, being that the main characters of Sam and Dean (played by Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki) are hot it's understandable. Well, at least that what I observed...I just think they're cute.

Regardless of your opinion of their looks these two stars, along with creator Eric Kripke, talked about season four of Supernatural and what's coming up for the demon hunting brothers.

FX going back to Philly on Sept. 18th - VIDEO

by Jonathan Toomey, posted Jul 8th 2008 5:40PM

Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney, and Glenn Howerton
It's coming. The return of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. With the season three DVD set to be released on September 9th, FX has lined up season four to premiere on Thursday, September 18th. I've gotta say - between this, The Shield, and Sons of Anarchy, FX has one helluva fall schedule. No word on whether or not the first few weeks will be double episodes as they did the past few seasons, but I would imagine they will be.

To prep for the season, FX has been airing promos like crazy (I embedded a great one featuring "Day Man" at the end of this post), but if you haven't been poking around the It's Always Sunny... website, you probably missed this: they made a music video.

Every Lost flash-forward, in order - VIDEO

by Jonathan Toomey, posted May 29th 2008 3:01PM
We have to go back!
In preparation for tonight's Lost season four finale, this counts as a good thing. The Tube Junkie over at New York Magazine stumbled on to this YouTube gem: all of the the flash-forwards shown in order. I've definitely found myself confused more than once over the course of this season as I've tried to decide which scenes came first, second, and so on. Seeing it all neatly laid out in only eight minutes certainly clears a few things up. Here's my question...

Lost season 4 DVD news

by Jonathan Toomey, posted May 16th 2008 12:23PM

Lost - Season 4 DVDIs it just me or are DVD releases getting announced earlier and earlier? Whatever the case, Lost fans can plan on getting the season four DVD as a Christmas/ Hanukkah/Kwanzaa present because it doesn't come out until December 9th. Which makes sense I suppose, since the show returns in early '09.

The 5-disc set (aka "The Expanded Experience") will obviously include all 14 season four eps plus a ton of goodies. As far as DVD sets go, Lost always has great extras. According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, expect to see 5 featurettes, bloopers, deleted scenes, and audio commentaries for some of the episodes. The one goodie that really has me excited? The "Oceanic Airlines Safety Guide." Hilarious. It immediately made me think of Airtoons -- all those funny and inappropriate airline safety cards.

As with season three, there will also be a BluRay release but I've got to be honest. I have the regular season three DVDs and they look pretty damn good on my HDTV set. So I'm not convinced that shelling out the extra $40 to $50 bucks is really worth it. Yet, anyway. You can pre-order both at Amazon for way less though - $38.99 for the normal DVDs and $66.95 for the BluRay.

FOX renews Prison Break

by Jonathan Toomey, posted Mar 24th 2008 4:22PM

Dominic Purcell and Wentworth MillerAfter much speculation and "on the bubble" murmurs, Variety is confirming that FOX has gone ahead and renewed Prison Break, one of the more popular guilty pleasures currently on network television. Prison Break has been picked up for a possible 23 episode fourth season, set to return in the fall.

Is the show that good? Sort of. Do the plots always make sense? Sometimes. Do I love it anyway? Absolutely. After a mediocre second season, the show roared back with a pretty enjoyable third season that got cut short to thirteen episodes by the WGA strike.

The 'Idol' premiere according to Mikalah Gordon

by Mikalah Gordon, posted Jan 17th 2007 2:41PM

Mikalah GordonWhat's up guys?! It's Mikalah Gordon here from season four of American Idol. I have been given the opportunity, thanks to AOL, to give you a weekly blog of my thoughts and opinions of this years A.I.

Now, enough chit chat, lets get on with the gossip.

As I sat in front of the TV eating the best enchilada in the world, I heard a familiar song that took me right back to my audition two years ago. My heart started beating and my palms got sweaty. It was the A.I. theme song. I must admit I was kind of nervous. I never realized how dramatic that intro song could be!

Minneapolis was the first stop. Ten thousand people lined up, but in the end, only 17 people were lucky enough to make it through to Hollywood. Now, question: How do you choose 17 people out of 10,000? Well, watching some of the auditions, it wasn't too hard to make the decision.

For UK fans: Sky One gets rights to Lost

by Joel Keller, posted Oct 19th 2006 4:50PM
LostIf you live in the UK and have been enjoying Lost, get your TiVos ready: Channel 4, which has been airing the first two seasons of the American hit, has lost the rights to seasons three and four to Sky One, according to The Sun.

"The series has defined TV drama over the last two years. We are absolutely thrilled to bring it to Sky One," Sky One chief Richard Woolfe told the tabloid.

Of course, Lost is currently only in its third season, but even with its slipping ratings, chances of a fourth season are almost 100%. So Sky will likely get its money's worth. Unless half the country has downloaded season three's episodes already. Then Sky is toast.

Home Movies season four out on Tuesday

by Adam Finley, posted May 12th 2006 5:33PM
home moviesThe fourth and final season of the brilliant-but-ignored series Home Movies is coming out on DVD this Tuesday. Co-creator Loren Bouchard has a brief interview over on Adult Swim's site about the new set, as well as the upcoming series he's working on called Lucy, Daughter of the Devil, whose pilot was shown only a couple of times on Adult Swim. Bouchard revealed that the audio commentaries will not only feature actors from the series, but also comments from bands like The Shins and Modest Mouse who have nothing to do with Home Movies other than being fans. Actually, I'd like to see more shows do "guest commentaries" like that, I think it's a cool idea.

Sealab 2021 season four out in August

by Adam Finley, posted May 9th 2006 12:05PM
sealab 2021I've said here before that despite not always liking what Adult Swim offers, I like even better the idea of the network trying out different shows with varying styles to see what works and what doesn't. Or, even better, to keep trying something even when it doesn't catch on right away. However, my college years and the few years following were to me the best time to tune into Adult Swim. A night of Space Ghost, The Brak Show, and Sealab 2021 was always a good time. The fourth season of Sealab 2021 will be out on DVD on August 15. This particular season, the show's second to the last, is also not a favorite among the more diehard fans of the show, as it was the second season following the death of Harry Goz, the voice of Captain Murphy. Admittedly, Goz brought a lot to the series, and the episode where he becomes trapped under a soda machine was by far the best one, but I think the show maintained its off-kilter sense of humor just fine throughout its run.
