Helen Confronts the Real Jack the Ripper on 'Sanctuary' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 10th 2011 7:30AM
In last season's finale of 'Sanctuary' (Fri., 10PM ET on Syfy), Helen Magnus followed Adam Worth through a time portal. In the premiere, she landed in 1898 London, where Adam was hoping to use modern technology to cure his daughter of a blood disease.Helen was more concerned with disrupting the time stream, not only if Adam succeeded, but if either of them interacted with their past selves -- as both of them were around back then as well. In fact, the show did have a couple of scenes where both of their selves nearly crossed paths.
Seth Rogen Plays Porn Director Dirty Randy on 'The League' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 7th 2011 6:30AM
Andre was definitely made to suffer even beyond what he did in the off-season by the end of this season premiere of 'The League' (Thu., 10:30PM ET on FX). The oft-mentioned but never seen Dirty Randy finally made an appearance, and he bears an eery resemblance to Seth Rogen with a sweet handlebar mustache. For the final punishment for coming in last the prior season, the gang decided to have Dirty Randy shoot a porn film in Andre's apartment. He had plenty of credentials, including a foul version of 'Schindler's List,' though we almost wish we didn't know his reason for the "artful" decision to film it in black-and-white.
Dr. House Incites a Riot in the Big House on the 'House' Premiere (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 4th 2011 2:15AM
You didn't expect Dr. Gregory House to take his incarceration quietly, did you? As widely reported, the eighth season premiere of 'House' (Mon., 9PM ET on FOX) had the not-so-good doctor wrapping up his first year in prison for driving into Cuddy's house and then fleeing the scene. Here we got to meet Dr. Jessica Adams, who's the doctor there. She and House develop a grudging respect for one another when she sees his diagnostics genius, and he can certainly appreciate her willingness to take risks and shirk the rules.
Ben Has a Bad Reaction and Freaks on 'How to Make It in America' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 3rd 2011 6:45AM
Still trying to make a splash on the New York fashion scene, Ben and Cam stopped off to invite the Neanderthals to their one-night event to promote their new hoodies on the season premiere of 'How to Make It in America' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on HBO). Unfortunately, thanks to Ben partaking with them, the boys were a little late arriving themselves.Ben had a very bad reaction to whatever he smoked, leading him to freak out on the subway. At one point he thought they were underwater, and then later he actually dunked his head in a fountain to try and straighten himself up. As a show of solidarity, and because Ben begged him to, Cam dunked himself as well.

['Gossip Girl' - 'Yes Than Zero']Another summer gone, another scandalous season of 'Gossip Girl' ahead, but many of last year's burning questions still remain unanswered: Who's carrying a little extra baby weight? Who is crazy cousin

Still, we can always rely on 'GG' to provide an OMG moment or two, so hit the jump for our Top Five most gaspworthy moments from the first episode.
Molly's New Diet is a Lot Like Her Old Diet on 'Mike & Molly' Premiere (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 27th 2011 5:45AM
After snagging Emmy gold for her portrayal of Molly on 'Mike & Molly' (Mon., 9:30PM ET on CBS), there's a good chance a lot of new eyes will be checking Melissa McCarthy's work on the show's Season 2 premiere. It doesn't hurt that it's airing after the rebooted 'Two and a Half Men,' coming off a record debut last week.As expected, McCarthy is endearing and delightful, even if the show around her remains fairly standard sitcom fare. It's certainly pleasant enough, with enough fun laughs along the way. And it stays true to the characters, without avoiding the fact that they're plus-sized people.
When Mike and Molly fight, Molly resorts to pancakes to battle her frustrations. It's a struggle with food and emotions that many people can relate to, and that's part of what makes 'Mike & Molly' so believable, even when they manage to resolve all their problems in 22 minutes each week.
Who's Expecting on the 'Gossip Girl' Premiere? (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 11:30PM
It took the length of the entire episode, with several misdirections and false leads to finally get to the answer, but we did learn who was pregnant on 'Gossip Girl' (Mon., 8PM ET on The CW). It's Doroda.Well, that's disappointing, but she fessed up when Eleanor confronted Blair about a copy of 'What to Expect When You're Expecting.' So that's the answer ... or at least as far as the rest of the cast goes, that's the answer for now.
For us at home and one seamstress, we know the truth. She guess Blair was about six weeks long when measuring her for her wedding dress, which of course Blair denied.
Hank Baskett, Meet Your Private Dancing Star, 'Kendra' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 6:15AM
Kendra Wilkinson walked away with more than memories of a good run on 'Dancing With the Stars.'. She reminded Hank Baskett of those days when she slipped into the yellow costume she wore and got his attention right away, on 'Kendra' (Sun., 11PM ET on E!)."I forgot how hot that dress was," he said as she shook and shimmied over him on the bed.
She tried to lure him into a samba with her, but he was content to watch her move and shake those hips. At least, he was content with it for a while. "I'm about to just tackle you," he said as she smiled and kept moving. Finally, he did just that and the dancing portion of the evening's entertainment came to a close.
Cee Lo Green Guests as a Hot Tub of Horrors on 'American Dad' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 5:15AM
Cee Lo Green was a revelation on the Season 7 premiere of 'American Dad' (Sun., 9:30PM ET on FOX), and that's not easy to do as a guest voice actor on an animated series. Still, we couldn't help but notice the way his unique style and sense of humor permeated every aspect of this musical experience. An obvious nod to 'Little Shop of Horrors,' the plant was replaced by a sentient hot tub voiced by Green. He lured Stan in and slowly began to take over his life. Eventually, Stan left his family behind along with his job, devoting himself entirely to the hot tub.
Lottery Winnings Go Straight to Peter's Head on 'Family Guy' Premiere (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 5:00AM
The Griffins won the lottery on the season premiere of 'Family Guy' (Sun., 9PM ET on FOX), but don't worry that this is going to be like that last lame season of 'Roseanne.' They blew through the winnings -- twice, actually -- by the end of the episode. But while they were sitting pretty, Peter let it go a little too far, torturing his friends for his own amusement. Before he turned the tables on them, though, Quagmire and Joe were doing the classic things friends do when one of them comes into a large sum of money.
Quagmire was looking for an investment while Joe was suddenly needing to throw a private concert for his wife. Even more egregious, they were laughing awfully hard at his jokes.
Michelle Obama Lends a Helping Hand on 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 4:30AM
On the season premiere of 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (Sun., 7PM ET on ABC), Ty Pennington and his design team took on the task of rebuilding the Steps-n-Stages Jubilee House for women veterans in need of assistance or a place to stay.In doing so, they touched close to a cause that means a lot to First Lady Michelle Obama, and so she got involved.
In fact, she even made the trip to the build site on the day the family returned to help with some last-minute touches, check out the final product and meet the woman behind Jubilee House.
Twitter Helps Save One 'Amazing Race' Team from Early Philimination (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 4:15AM
For Kaylani and Lisa, their adventure with 'The Amazing Race' (Sun., 8PM ET on CBS) nearly came to an end before they even arrived at LAX to leave the country. When stopping for directions, Kaylani accidentally knocked her passport out of the car, but when they returned for it, it was gone. One of the most amazing things in 'TAR' history then happened, as a couple of guys who happened to be at the gas station when a different team came guy noticed the passport and went to Twitter to talk about having just seen teams racing.
He was then told to get to LAX to give her the passport, and he arrived like a guardian angel with a miracle.
Steve Martin Crashes Alec Baldwin's Record-Setting 'SNL' Hosting Stint (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 3:00AM
When it was realized that Alec Baldwin hosting this season premiere of 'Saturday Night Live' (Sat., 11:30PM ET on NBC) would give him the all-time hosting record over Steve Martin, we all assumed that Martin would make an appearance. The question was how and when.Well, he showed up right away, during Baldwin's monologue touting his 16th time hosting. Martin was surprisingly gracious, and only wanted to make sure Baldwin wasn't using any performance enhancing drugs.
So they staged a fake drug test, with Martin analyzing Baldwin's urine by swishing it in his mouth -- he only detected Cialis. It was a fun bit, but much tamer than perhaps we would have expected. No jealousy or bitterness from Martin? We did, however, love when he asked surprise guest Seth Rogen if his being there counted as hosting. It doesn't.
Peter Griffin Tells Cleveland They're Not Friends Anymore on 'Cleveland Show' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 2:45AM
Seth MacFarlane kicked off his portion of 'Animation Domination' with a crossover on 'The Cleveland Show' (Sun., 8:30PM ET on FOX). After finding out Peter Griffin had been in Stoolbend and not contacted him, Cleveland headed to 'Family Guy's Quahog to find out why. There was a lot of fourth wall-breaking, like the Griffins assuming Cleveland's show had been cancelled. Finally, Peter bluntly told Cleveland that he no longer thinks of them as friends.
The episode then followed Cleveland trying to forge a tighter bond with his Stoolbend drinking buddies, only to have Peter arrive at the last moment -- with Chris' evil monkey -- to save them all. It was a fun nod to Cleveland's past, and another reminder of how fun these shows can mesh together.
Kiefer Sutherland is a Security Guard With a Secret Past on 'The Simpsons' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 2:30AM
Kiefer Sutherland lent his voice to 'The Simpsons' (Sun., 8PM ET on FOX) as a character reminiscent of his Jack Bauer days. Wayne is the new security guard at the nuclear power plant, but he has flashbacks to a much more dangerous past. One flashback revealed the special CIA training he received, complete with circus strongmen, ferocious animals, Chucky and Kobe Bryant! But, despite his harrowed past and his resistance to befriending people in Springfield, Homer gets under his skin.
And then Homer needs saving when Wayne's past literally comes to town -- though we're not sure how he found it considering Wayne chose Springfield because it isn't on any maps. It was a fun episode, and a fun character for Sutherland. We loved the Korean animation re-enactment, and we're happy to see Nedna going strong!
