Big Mike Lynche Casey JamesSomethingPitchy's backstage interviews with the 'American Idol' top 10 continues today with hunky rocker Casey James and the always hilarious Michael "Big Mike" Lynche.

First up, we found out how Casey is feeling after battling allergies at the start of the tour, how he picked his tour set list and, in an impulsive move from host Andy Scott, just how tall he really is.

Then, Gaby sat down with Big Mike to talk about his hilarious tour video series, Late Night Sandwich, Aaron Kelly on Redbull and, yes, Tim Urban's pecs. (We had to sneak that in there somehow.)

SomethingPitchy Backstage With the Idols: Siobhan Magnus and Aaron Kelly (VIDEO)

Siobhan Magnus Aaron KellySince SomethingPitchy host Andy Scott got called out yesterday for his red cheeks during his Tim Urban interview, it's fitting that SP correspondent Gaby Dunn's flustered face is exposed today.

The 'American Idol' experts went backstage with the season 9 Idols at the Newark 'Idols Live' tour last week and filmed interviews with the Top 10.

First up today, Gaby was charmed by the country etiquette of 17-year-old Aaron Kelly. The two talked dental hygiene and tried to write a country song together. (Key word: Tried.)

SomethingPitchy Backstage With the Idols: Katie Stevens and Tim Urban (!!!)

by Gabrielle Dunn, posted Jul 27th 2010 2:05PM
Katie Stevens and Tim UrbanThis set of 'American Idol' Season 9 interviews are my personal favorites.

SomethingPitchy filmed backstage videos with the entire Top 10 last week at the 'Idols Live' tour in Newark. But the most exciting part of the whole trip was when SP host Andy Scott finally got to meet his favorite contestant Tim Urban! (Note Andy's flushed cheeks. Someone's got a crush!)

Andy also talked to eighth-place finisher and absolute cutie pie Katie Stevens, who though not yet 18, is already planning a sweet music tattoo.

'American Idol' - 'Finale Results' Recap (Season Finale)

by Kona Gallagher, posted May 27th 2010 1:15AM
american idol final 2
It's been a long season, but we're finally at the end. Simon is saying goodbye tonight, and we're going to crown another American Idol. Both contestants are deserving, although Crystal impressed me a little bit more last night. Regardless, when the winner is announced at the end of the episode, I'm going to be happy. They both deserve it, and I'm sure they're both going to go on to have a career.

Of course, the weird school uniforms make me think that the careers they are going to go on to are of the weird married-stripping-team variety, a la Steve Carell and Tina Fey in 'Date Night,' but Ryan did say we were in for a lot of surprises tonight, so I'm just going to go with it.

Siobhan Magnus Performs 'Paint It Black' on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Mar 16th 2010 10:00PM
If 'American Idol' has taught us anything, it's that Siobhan Magnus can do no wrong. After weeks of performances, Magnus has yet to deliver a clunker, and tonight was no exception.

Magnus, who was a goth vision in a dark blue dress and black combat boots, gave a dramatic rendition of 'Paint It Black' by the Rolling Stones that started with strings and evolved into an up-tempo song with a piercing, sustained note at the end. For sure, it was dark and exaggerated, but we've come to expect nothing less from Magnus, and the judges ate it up.

Michael Lynche Performs 'This Woman's Work' on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Mar 10th 2010 10:00PM
Credit goes to Michael "Big Mike" Lynche for easily providing the strongest performance on 'American Idol' tonight. Lynche belted out an emotionally-connected rendition of Maxwell's 'This Woman's Work' that drew rave reviews from the judges and even brought Kara DioGuardi to tears.

"One of my favorite songs and, oh my God, that was so beautiful and it feels like the show just began. You are the one to beat now," Ellen DeGeneres said, borrowing a comment that Simon Cowell made last night to describe Crystal Bowersox as a shoo-in to win.

Crystal Bowersox Performs 'Give Me One Reason' on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Mar 9th 2010 9:22PM
Crystal Bowersox gave another accomplished performance on 'American Idol' tonight, effortlessly tearing through Tracy Chapman's 'Give Me One Reason' and earning high praise from Simon Cowell that she's "the one everyone has to beat" in the competition.

Bowersox, who was briefly hospitalized last week due to a pre-existing medical condition, clearly still wasn't feeling well and immediately took a seat on her amp to receive feedback from the judges.

Siobhan Magnus Performs 'Think' on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Mar 3rd 2010 10:00PM
We agree with Simon Cowell that there's something decidedly strange about 'American Idol' contestant Siobhan Magnus. Perhaps it's her spacey, slow-talking manner of speech, or her peculiar job as a glass blowing apprentice. Still, there's no denying that Magnus sure can belt out a tune.

Magnus delivered a powerhouse performance of Aretha Franklin's 'Think' on 'American Idol' tonight, hitting a high note that bowled the judges over.

Lee Dewyze Performs 'Lips of An Angel' on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Mar 2nd 2010 10:00PM
It was, without a doubt, a night of mostly mediocre performances as the top 10 men hit the stage on 'American Idol,' but Lee Dewyze stood out with a rendition of Hinder's 'Lips of An Angel' that earned high marks from all the judges, including a compliment from Simon Cowell that Dewyze is "the best singer" among the group of men.

"A couple little pitch problems, but it doesn't matter," Ellen DeGeneres said. "There was so much passion and intensity ... It came out as a great performance because you were just really in that song. I thought that it was great."

Casey James Performs 'Heaven' on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Feb 24th 2010 10:21PM
'American Idol' contestant Casey James, who's perhaps best known for removing his shirt at Kara DioGuardi's request during his first audition, performed an simple, genuine version of 'Heaven' by Bryan Adams on acoustic guitar that drew universal praise from the judges and an inappropriate amount of cougar lust from DioGuardi.

"Seriously now, jokes aside. You are eye candy, but you're also ear candy," DioGuardi said. "Your looks may be what we first looked at, but you can play and you can sing, and you've got heart and soul."

Crystal Bowersox Performs 'Hand in My Pocket' on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Feb 23rd 2010 11:57PM
We couldn't agree with the judges of 'American Idol' more; there's something about contestant Crystal Bowersox that just screams originality. Bowersox gave an earthy performance of Alanis Morissette's 'Hand in My Pocket' while playing guitar and harmonica simultaneously.

"I love your originality as an artist ... I just love the honesty. I'm not even sure this was the right song for you, but this is one of the times for me it doesn't matter what the song is. I like you. I just like what you do," Randy Jackson said.

Buffy season nine, by Joss Whedon

by Brad Trechak, posted Sep 25th 2009 3:09PM
Buffy"But wait," you say. "There was a season eight?" Yes, there was. It was in comic book form. And season eight will be in the same format. This is according to Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon.

If you haven't been reading the comics, shame on you. Without the restrictions of a television budget, some crazy cool things have been happening. Like Dawn growing to enormous size and Buffy teaming up with Dracula to take out a band of rogue Asian vampires. Also, Buffy travels to the future to meet Slayer-from-the-future Malaka Fray (who was in a previous comic series of her own).

Whedon is obviously a fan of comics. The good news is, in comic books, the series never has to end. We could all be enjoying Buffy season 337 in a few centuries. Well, our descendants would be anyway. It's something to look forward to.
