Guess what the top two shows were last week
by Bob Sassone, posted Sep 30th 2009 3:29PM
You're probably going to say that Dancing with the Stars was one of them, but actually those episodes were numbers 9 and 10. And it wasn't one of the CSI shows or one of the comedies on CBS and it wasn't Grey's Anatomy.Hint: the two shows are related, and I think they're taking over the television landscape. Here's the full list of the top 20 shows in the Nielsen ratings last week. Three new shows made the list.

So what are you watching tonight?
by Bob Sassone, posted Sep 14th 2009 2:01PM
We'll have a lot of season premieres coming up in the next few weeks, but I would say that tonight is a big night, too. Not only do we have the season opener of Gossip Girl on The CW, we also have the long-awaited debut of The Jay Leno Show on N "we don't have scripted shows at 10 anymore" BC. What are you going to watch? Lincoln Heights and Greek? Monday Night Football? One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl? Or are you going to watch something on cable or the news? Or maybe DVDs/DVR stuff you haven't watched yet? Will you give Leno a try?
TV Squad's complete 2009-10 fall season premiere calendar
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 3rd 2009 12:04PM
The networks have had a quiet summer, quietly introducing scripted bomb after scripted bomb, so they're certainly ready to jump into the new fall season. And It looks to be an interesting one. ABC is scheduling a two-hour block of new comedies on Wednesdays as the sitcom tries to make a comeback. Even more risky is NBC handing 10:00 to Jay Leno every night of the week. Everyone's waiting to see how that one plays out. FOX is banking on huge positive buzz for Glee to make it a hit, while ABC is hoping FlashForward can pick up where Lost is leaving off when it wraps its run this season.
To help you with it all, TV Squad has put together a handy calendar of all the premieres so you can schedule responsibly in this busy time of TV watching. Some nights have as many as twelve premieres scheduled, so you might need to invest in a few more DVRs to catch all your favorites; Monday's still look grim. Bookmark this page and you'll have it handy to help see you through.

TV Squad: The Week Ahead
by Bob Sassone, posted Sep 8th 2008 8:38AM
Our Monday morning roundup of a half dozen things TV Squad readers - and TV fans in general - will be talking about this week. 1. Fringe series premiere. It's from the guys behind Lost and the pilot cost $10 million. I think a few people are going to be talking about it. (Tuesday at 8 on FOX.)
2. Sarah Connor Chronicles season premiere. "Everyone thinks I'm here to terminate John Connor. I just want to watch his DirecTV..." (Tonight at 8 on FOX.)
3. Saturday Night Live season premiere. Who's going to play Sarah Palin? (Saturday at 11:30 on NBC.)
4. The Bonnie Hunt Show series premiere. Will her talk show truly be different? Can it succeed in the crowded talk show landscape? Is it here for the long-term like The Merv Griffin Show or will it be gone as quick as The Martin Short Show? (Starts today - check local listings.)
5. Psych summer finale. Sometimes it gives you a headache trying to figure out when these seasons start and end and when they start up again. (Friday at 10 on USA.)
6. Privileged. I'm beginning to overdose on the pretty/rich people TV show genre. (Tuesday at 9 on The CW.)

4. Stand Up To Cancer. ABC, CBS, and NBC (though not FOX or The CW) join forces on one night to raise money. (Friday at 8pm.)
5. Swingtown season finale. Or is that the series finale? (Friday at 10pm on CBS)
6. U.S. Open Finals. Will it be Federer vs. Nadal again? We know it won't be a Williams/Williams women's final because they're in the same half. (Women's Final: Saturday at 8pm on CBS. Men's Final: Sunday at 4pm - or whenever football gets over - on CBS.)
