Plus, while it's lighter than other months, November has some prominent premieres, among them AMC's 'Hell on Wheels, Nickelodeon's 'Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness' and Fox's latest comedy entry, 'I Hate My Teenage Daughter.'

With so much great television premiering and finding success in September, the networks had to bump some of their premieres to this month, which means more great new programming all month long. And as it's October, that means the return of 'The Walking Dead' on AMC, while FX tries to capture the same spirit with the debut of 'American Horror Story.'

Then there's the much-anticipated premiere of the newly rebooted 'Two and a Half Men,' with Charlie Sheen out and Ashton Kutcher in. Check out the rest of the new shows, not to mention all of your returning favorites, below.

We may be a month or so away from the big fall premieres in September, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty to keep us busy on our TV screens until then. Sure we say goodbye to 'The Bachelorette,' but who doesn't love its sleazier cousin, 'Bachelor Pad'? And, of course, 'Jersey Shore' returns to show us how the kids fared in Italy. Surely they were embraced with open arms, right?
A lot of summer scripted series bid us farewell as well, including 'Falling Skies, 'Franklin & Bash,' 'Single Ladies,' 'White Collar,' 'Covert Affairs,' 'In Plain Sight,' 'Memphis Beat,' 'The Nine Lives of Chloe King,' 'HawthoRNe,' 'Flashpoint,' 'Leverage,' and 'Royal Pains.' It's not all goodbyes, though.

That's why we recommend staying inside where the air conditioning is cool, and TV is even cooler. You'll want to hang onto this handy guide of all the premieres, specials and finales so you'll know where to find your favorite shows like 'Torchwood,' premiering on Starz, and 'Damages,' shifting over to DirecTV's Audience channel.
June 2011 Calendar of Premieres, Specials and Finales
by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 1st 2011 4:00PM

In terms of premieres, June is becoming just like September and January on the television landscape.
What used to be the kick-off to a summer of repeats and reality shows has recently become a stomping ground for scripted fare across cable. That shift has made the hot days of June cool and fun, so long as your TV room is air conditioned.
May 2011 Calendar of Premieres, Specials and Finales
by Jason Hughes, posted May 1st 2011 1:00PM

It's May again, and while that mostly means finales for most of our network fall and spring favorites, there's plenty to get excited about in the month as well. Saying goodbye to the regular season means saying hello to summer favorites like 'So You Think You Can Dance' on FOX and 'America's Got Talent' on NBC. ABC offers up a new healthy addition to a popular franchise with 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition,' along with a new season of 'The Bachelorette.'
If reality isn't your thing, USA kicks off new seasons of 'In Plain Sight' and 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' (because a season without 'L&O' is unthinkable!). CBS also premieres the new season of summer favorite 'Flashpoint.'

While everyone's expecting this year's Super Bowl to set new television viewing records, as the NFL has been doing all season, that doesn't mean there's nothing else going on this month. Fox brings you not only the big game, but that special super-sized episode of 'Glee' airing right after it, as well as new series 'The Chicago Code' and 'Traffic Light.'January 2011 TV Calendar of Premieres, Specials & Finales

November 2010 Calendar of Premieres, Specials and Finales
by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 1st 2010 10:50AM

The biggest premiere of the month isn't in prime time. But still we expect plenty of people to stay up until 11PM ET to catch the TBS launch of 'Conan' on November 8. ABC bids farewell to another hit season of 'Dancing with the Stars,' but not before using its power to launch new series 'Skating with the Stars.' USA gets back in the action with fall returns for 'Burn Notice' and 'Psych,' while History premieres the US-version of 'Top Gear.'
October 2010 Premieres, Specials and Finales
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 1st 2010 8:00AM

It's October, and that means Halloween and scary television. This year, there's a new 'Shrek' Halloween special for the kids, while the adults have even more to look forward to. Leading up to the Halloween night premiere of the hotly anticipated AMC series 'The Walking Dead' is a zombie import from the UK. The five-part series 'Dead Set,' about a zombie apocalypse during the filming of 'Big Brother,' will air the five nights leading up to October 31.
October's more than just spooky programming. As we say goodbye to AMC's quality dramas 'Mad Men' and 'Rubicon,' we can be consoled in knowing that HBO's excellent 'In Treatment' is back for another season. Those with DirecTV can start enjoying the final season of 'Friday Night Lights,' while on the broadcast networks 'American Dad,' 'CSI: Miami' and 'America's Funniest Home Videos' finally kick off their seasons.

This is the big one. Virtually every show that you could possibly be watching, or thinking of watching is either coming or going this month. Big summer hits like 'The Closer,' 'Covert Affairs' and 'True Blood' bid us farewell, while the fall season on the major broadcast networks blasts us with all that's new by the end of the month. Some cable networks are even taking on the big boys directly in the fall with new seasons of hits like 'Sons of Anarchy,' 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' and 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars.'
