Josh and Seth Meyers See How Well They Know Each Other on 'Late Night' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 28th 2011 2:55AM
Josh Meyers & Seth Meyers, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'The brothers Meyers were on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:35AM ET on NBC) together, so Jimmy Fallon concocted a game they could play to see how much they really knew about one another. One particular question alluded to a potentially traumatic event in their childhood.

At least it seemed that way until we knew the whole story. When the question was posted to Josh Meyers what the Meyers family song might be, he shouted out 'Mommy Come Back.'

Fallon almost fell out of his chair in laughter and discomfort. What was happening? Was Josh revealing that their mother had abandoned them?

Martha Stewart Celebrates 1,000th Episode With Help From Seth Meyers (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Apr 20th 2011 2:00PM
Martha Stewart marked the 1,000th episode of 'The Martha Stewart Show' (weekdays, syndicated) with a towering display of blue cupcakes furnished by a local bakery. And, to complete the display, guest Seth Meyers lent a helpful, if somewhat shaky, hand.

At the start of his segment, Meyers presented a giant cupcake meant to serve as a topper on the display. Then, he climbed a ladder and prepared to lower it into place. "I'm so nervous about this!" he said.

Seth Meyers Tries to Convince Robert Pattinson to Host 'SNL' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 18th 2011 2:30PM
Robert Pattinson with Seth Meyers and Kelly Ripa on 'Live With Regis and Kelly'Robert Pattinson has confronted werewolves, rival vampires, even throngs of teenage 'Twilight' fans -- and come out unscathed. But what really scares him, the actor told 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated) is the prospect of hosting 'Saturday Night Live.' Both Kelly Ripa and guest host Seth Meyers tried to convince Pattinson to give live comedy a shot, but he wouldn't bite.

"It's terrifying," pleaded Pattinson. "It is scary," replied Meyers. "But then it's really worth it when you do it." Pattinson further protested that he wasn't funny, though Meyers was prepared for that, telling Pattinson that he'd been funny in a bit with Jimmy Fallon. Pattinson countered that he wasn't trying to be funny. "That's how it's going to work," replied Meyers.

Ripa also tried to assuage Pattinson's fears, saying she had hosted and that Pattinson would be fantastic, though Pattinson seemed unconvinced. So don't get your hopes up for an Edward and Gilly pairing anytime soon.

Martha Stewart Made Seth Meyers Feel Like He Was in 'The Matrix' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 15th 2011 2:56AM
Seth Meyers, 'Late Show with David Letterman'Seth Meyers and Martha Stewart have struck a kind of unexpected friendship through their various interactions over the years. He went on 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS) and spoke with David Letterman about a recent interview he did with her at her home.

As expected, Stewart's home is immaculate. So much so, that Meyers was intimidated to even walk through it. "I was walking with the delicacy of a cat burglar," he said of a simple trip to the restroom in her house.

Seth Meyers Can't Stop Laughing on 'Martha Stewart Presents: Men Who Make Us Laugh' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 28th 2011 2:34AM
Seth Meyers, 'Martha Stewart Presents: Men Who Make Us Laugh'Nobody's comfortable being asked how much money they make. Particularly those who make quite a bit of it. It's also awkward for those who don't make nearly as much. 'Martha Stewart Presents: Men Who Make Us Laugh' (Sun., 8PM on Hallmark) sought to find out which camp 'SNL' head writer and news anchor Seth Meyers is in.

He started off by telling Stewart that she wouldn't believe how much he makes. "It's not a contest, but we are way closer than you think," he told her.

"You're stable's slightly bigger I guess," he said looking over at it.

But he couldn't keep up the ruse and started laughing as they delved deeper into his situation. Eventually, they were both laughing and the interview was nearly falling apart.

Filling In for Regis on 'Live,' Seth Meyers and Kelly Ripa Discuss the Rigors of Double-Duty Hosting (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jan 10th 2011 12:50PM
Seth Meyers and Kelly Ripa on 'Live With Regis and Kelly'Seth Meyers was filling in for Regis Philbin this morning on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (Weekdays, 7AM on CBS), and started the show off by declaring, "I've never been up this early."

Meyers is pulling double duty, co-hosting 'Live' while still working on 'Saturday Night Live,' where he is head writer and the 'Weekend Update' anchor. 'SNL' is preparing for a new episode Saturday hosted by Gwyeth Paltrow and musical guest Cee Lo Green.

After both hosts showed off impressive Don Pardo impressions, Meyers and Ripa discussed the challenges of doing both shows -- Ripa hosted 'SNL' once in 2003, and didn't take time off from 'Live' to do it. Ripa said it was one of the most exhausting weeks of her life.

"That's a bummer," said Meyers, "because I was going to go to work and make a big deal out of the fact that I did this and that I'm also going to work all week. But you did both and, like, have a family and stuff."

Not to worry, said Ripa. She jokingly re-assured Meyers that she completely neglected her family that week.

Bill Hader Cracks Up While Playing 'Stefon' on 'Saturday Night Live' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 13th 2010 2:10AM
Bill Hader Cracks Up While Playing 'Stefon' on 'Saturday Night Live'There's an ongoing debate as to whether it's awesome or annoying when cast members crack up on 'Saturday Night Live' (Sat., 11:30PM ET on NBC). For instance, a lot of people hated former cast member Jimmy Fallon, simply because he laughed during sketches. Personally, we tend to err on the "awesome" side of the equation, but that's just us.

Now, the new king of inappropriate live giggling is ... Bill Hader, who's been having a lot trouble when playing his gay-themed character "Stefon" on "Weekend Update." "Stefon" is actually based on a dude who Bill has personally met. But the normally laid-back and professional Mr. Hader has some issues with playing him -- he's cracked up and broken character in the past.

Anyway, watch for yourself, as Bill/"Stefon" tries to talk about hipster-ish Christmas parties, "human parking cones" and "jacked midgets" -- but then is unable to restrain himself. Hader starts laughing, then starts freaking out again ... and has to cover his face with his hands.

Seth MeyersSeth Meyers is the latest comedian tasked with skewering the political elite in front of their faces -- er, hosting the White House Correspondents Association dinner.

CNN reports that the 'Saturday Night Live' head writer will take a stab at in-person satire when he emcees the April 30 event, which the president usually attends.

Wanda Sykes, Stephen Colbert and Jay Leno have made headlines for their hosting turns in years past. Meyers is already scheduled to host the 2011 ESPYs.

Kanye West and George W. Bush -- Best Friends Forever (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Nov 15th 2010 1:25AM
Kanye West and George W. Bush -- Best Friends ForeverFormer President George W. Bush and singer Kanye West have been in the news lately, and 'SNL' (Sat., 11:30PM ET on NBC) reveals that, surprisingly, they actually have a lot in common.

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Kanye appeared on live TV and notoriously said: "George Bush doesn't care about black people." Last week Mr. Bush discussed the accusation in an interview with Matt Lauer, during which he said it represented "an all-time low" for his presidency. He then denied he meant that criticism of his handling of the crisis was worse than the crisis itself.

Seth Meyers Says 'SNL' Parodies of Kathie Lee and Hoda are 'Right on Target' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Sep 24th 2010 2:30PM
Seth Meyers dropped by the fourth hour of 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC) and noted that Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb appeared to be "slightly less insane" than they're often portrayed on 'Saturday Night Live.' However, he said that 'SNL's' Gifford/Kotb parodies were accurate and felt it was just a matter of time before the two hosts indulged in a bit of on-air drinking.

Seth Meyers Teases LeBron, Reggie, Tiger at ESPY Awards (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jul 15th 2010 5:33AM
Seth Meyers Teases Lebron, Reggie, Tiger on 'ESPY Awards'As host of the 'ESPY Awards' (Wed., 9PM ET on ESPN), Seth Meyers had a lot of material to work with, gleaning jokes both from the sports world and the athletes' private lives.

"This is where sports and entertainment come together," said Meyers. "It's like a Kardashian sister's bedroom." The camera cut to Reggie Bush, Kim Kardashian's on-again, off-again boyfriend, who smiled sheepishly.

Meyers called LeBron James' TV special announcing his move to the Miami Heat "a super boring hour of television" -- pretty brave considering ESPN televised said hour.

He commended James on the deal, but turned even that into a (Tiger Woods) joke you'll find in the clip.

Also on the video: footage from all the Best Play and Best Team nominees, and speeches from the respective awards' surprising winners.

David Hasselhoff Chased Jay Leno After a Mean Joke (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jul 13th 2010 6:40AM
David Hasselhoff Chased Jay Leno After a Mean JokeJay Leno had a cautionary tale for Seth Meyers to consider when he hosts the ESPY Awards on July 14. The moral of the story? Be very careful joking about people who are in attendance, he advised on 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).

Unlike on 'Saturday Night Live,' the people Meyers would normally joke about will be in the audience, and "every one of them [is] stronger than me," noted Meyers.

Leno could relate. He once told a 'Knight Rider' joke at an NBC function. Afterward, he spotted star David Hasselhoff looming over other attendees. "He's tall, and I see -- he's pushing his way through the crowd to get to me. And, of course, I ran away."

To make matters worse for Meyers, the comedy writers and athletes are all staying in one hotel. It's reminiscent of his school days -- minus the rows of lockers, he said. Prepare to get pantsed.

Seth Meyers' Brother Spits in His FaceThe brothers Meyers stopped by 'Late Night' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), as they did last fall. But instead of answering trivia questions about each other, Jimmy Fallon had something else in mind: the spit take.

Fallon said to Josh ('That '70s Show'), "You know how this works, right?" Oh yeah, of course he did.

Older brother Seth, from 'Saturday Night Live,' insisted on taking off his tie before reading off the joke he was handed. He knew what was coming, too.

Josh stood just a couple feet in front of him, holding a glassful of water in his mouth until just the right moment ...
