George Clooney Embarrassed Shailene Woodley on Her Birthday (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 17th 2011 5:00AM
Shailene Woodley, 'Chelsea Lately'For Shailene Woodley's twentieth birthday, she got to spend it talking to the press. That's because the day coincided with the Los Angeles premiere of her new film 'The Descendants.' But, George Clooney wasn't going to just let the day go by, as we learned on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!).

Whereas many young women might love the idea of George Clooney leading the premiere crowd in a rousing rendition of the 'Happy Birthday' song, Woodley agreed with Chelsea Handler that the moment was best described as embarrassing. We suspect, though, she'll remember it fondly in years to come.

by Breia Brissey, posted Mar 28th 2011 1:30PM
Secret LifeIt's been a long time (nearly six months!) since 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' (Monday, 8PM on ABC Family) aired all-new episodes. Who better to refresh your memory than the stars of the show themselves?

We caught up with stars Shailene Woodley and Daren Kagasoff, who play teen parents Amy and Ricky, at the ABC Family upfronts to get the scoop on the new season.

The stars were tight-lipped, but Woodley did promise one thing would continue to make an appearance in the new episodes: drama.

"There's definitely a lot of drama," she said. "That's my go-to phrase to not say too much!"

Secret Life of the American Teenager: Par for the Course - open thread

Secret Life of the American Teenager
The other night I was watching a special on BBC America about all of the pregnant girls in the Gloucester, MA (where I was born) high school. That has nothing to do with this show, of course, but every time I see a show about a pregnant teen I think of that real-life story. I'm waiting for the inevitable movie that Lifetime will make about the situation.

Last night's episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager was about how Ben's preoccupation with sex is causing trouble with Amy. More than the trouble it has already caused, that is. Yo, Adrian!

Secret Life of the American Teenager: The Big One (season premiere) - open thread

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 23rd 2009 10:27AM
Secret Life of the American TeenagerLast night was the second season premiere of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, a show that's really superficial. That's not me saying that, it's Tom Shales at the Washington Post, who says that the show is "an unabashed throwback to soaps of ages past" and one that "makes no attempt to camouflage artifice and superficiality." And I think he likes the show (though it sounds like he hasn't watched a soap opera since 1976).

What did you think of the season opener?
