Shaq Hoists Kevin Hart in the Air Like a Child on 'The Tonight Show' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 24th 2011 5:14AM
When Kevin Hart started cracking jokes on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC) about how Shaquille O'Neal has been showing up in the most unexpected places since his retirement, he didn't really think through the fact that one of those places was 'The Tonight Show.'"I saw him at Home Depot two weeks ago," Hart said. "He wasn't even shopping. He was just helping people put stuff in their car. 'I'm Shaq. I don't got nothing to do. You want me to grab it. I'll help you.'"
Even though you could almost see it coming, it was still funny when Shaq came out and hoisted Hart into the air like a child.
Can Shaquille O'Neal Outrace the Fastest Man in the World? (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 18th 2010 4:21AM
There's some debate about who the current "Fastest Man Alive" is. Some people say it's Usain Bolt; some people say it's Tyson Gay. ... But at any rate, Tyson Gay is no worse than the second fastest man on the face of the Earth. And now, Shaquille O'Neal must beat him in a race.'Shaq Vs.' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC) is a show where O'Neal takes on the top athletes in he world, challenging them in their own sports. Tonight's match-up: Shaq versus Tyson. The pair run a 60 meter race; except that Shaq gets a 30 meter head start. Hey! That isn't exactly cool! So O'Neal only has to run half as far as Gay?
Will the world's (possibly) fastest man win, even if he has to run twice as far as Shaq? Let's watch and see. And no matter who wins, is this even a fair contest for either athlete?
Jimmy Kimmel Shatters a Basketball Backboard (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Jun 13th 2010 9:35PM
It is the dream of every red-blooded male to smash a basketball backboard in his lifetime. Or at least, that's the dream of Jimmy Kimmel -- and he counts as a red-blooded male, right? On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night,' (Sun., 7PM ET on ABC), the host lives out his hoop dreams by shattering a plexiglass backboard. By doing this, he joins the ranks of such famed b-ball players as Michael Jordan and Shaquille O'Neal. Awesome job, Jimmy Kimmel, way to go!
But sadly, Kimmel seems to have gotten a little help in his quest. For one thing, the basketball hoop looks like it's about five feet tall -- not the required ten feet. And not that we're doubting Jimmy's athletic prowess or anything, but the backboard breaks suspiciously easily ... almost as if it had been specially altered or something.
The NBA Playoffs Tip-Off with Timberlake and Foxx
by Allison Waldman, posted Apr 17th 2010 8:21PM
The post-season has arrived for the National Basketball Association. The NBA Playoffs are upon us, starting today on ABC and ESPN, and tomorrow night on TNT, and that means the networks are shifting into overdrive to present all the games, all the action, and -- especially -- all the stars to the viewing public. Shaq, Kobe, LeBron, Dwayne, Dirk, Rajon ... if you're a fan, you don't need the last names. That's how big the star power is for NBA elite players. It's perhaps even bigger than the NFL or any other major league. And that's one reason why the NBA is not the number one sport in America, but it is the number one marketed sport. That's a point illustrated in the new promo for the TNT broadcasts featuring music and movie stars Jamie Foxx and Justin Timberlake extolling the virtues of the NBA playoffs.

by Michael D. Ayers, posted Dec 16th 2009 3:00PM
Reality TV has hired Donald Trump -- again.Variety reports that The Donald has just inked a deal with the Golf Channel for a new unscripted reality show titled 'Donald J. Trump's Fabulous World of Golf' (yep).
Trump, who owns many golf courses in such places as Westchester, New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and Puerto Rico, is rounding up a host of celebrities to compete one-on-one for charities. Already on board to play a few holes are NFL legends Jerry Rice and Lawrence Taylor, with more athletes, musicians, actors and business-types reportedly to come.
The series will debut on April 26, 2010, with an initial order of six half-hour episodes.

ABC lines up celebrity athletes to take on O'Neal in Shaq Vs.
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 22nd 2009 9:00PM
I can't help but think of the old "Bo Knows" commercials, where professional baseball and football player Bo Jackson showed us that he could do literally anything. Now, it's the big man's turn. Shaquille O'Neal stars in Shaq Vs., where the basketball star shows his own diversity by taking on the likes of Michael Phelps and Albert Pujols. The idea is that Shaq will take on the guest athlete's sport, meaning he'll swim laps with Phelps and go to bat against Pujols. The ABC series premieres Tuesday, August 18 at 9 PM, but there's no word as to how many episodes they're signed up for. If it's a huge hit, though, you have to think they're going to need to find more athletes and more challenges for Shaq.
Can he Trade powerslams with Randy Orton? Pump more steroids than Manny Ramirez? Make a better blacklight sex tape than Paris Hilton? Get more tabloid headlines than the Gosselins? The real challenge would be if Shaq starts taking on actors in their chosen field.
Jimmy Kimmel to air primetime specials
by Kristin Sample, posted Jun 4th 2008 3:03PM
The late night comedian will be appearing during your primetime schedule. Starting tomorrow, Jimmy Kimmel LIve will run special half-hour shows each night that ABC airs the basketball finals. Special guests include: David Beckham, Edward Norton, Charles Barkley, Liv Tyler, Adam Sandler, Eminem, Shaquille O'Neil, Magic Johnson and New Orleans Hornets guard and 2008 MVP contender Chris Paul, among others. Out of the celebrities mentioned, I'm most interested to see Eminem. I haven't seen the Real Slim Shady on TV in awhile. He's always a good interview though -- all that contrived hostility and testosterone in overdrive. Who are you looking forward to seeing? Or is Kimmel's fabulousness enough to get you to tune in?
The schedule is after the jump.
