TV Casting: William Baldwin Heading to 'Gossip Girl'; More Join 'Hope for Haiti' Telethon
by Andrew Scott, posted Jan 20th 2010 11:15AM
After months of searching, it looks like Serena has finally found her father. Sources say that actor William Baldwin has joined the cast of 'Gossip Girl' as William van der Woodsen, Serena's elusive dad who has been M.I.A. for the show's entire duration. Baldwin's gig will reportedly last for three episodes and will kick off sometime in April. Now that's something to gossip about. [Ausiello Files]The Jay Leno Show: Bill Maher/Brad Paisley and Sheryl Crow
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 29th 2009 2:43AM
The show has fully hit its stride and rhythm by this, its third week. It also appears that it may have found its ratings level, hovering between five and six million viewers a night. Those aren't great numbers, but considering how much cheaper it is to produce than Heroes, which isn't doing much better, NBC would consider it a win if it stays there. The problem with that, as I'm seeing it, is too many of the recurring segments just aren't working as well. An entire segment each night is devoted to these comedy correspondents, and eleven episodes in, they're more miss than hit.
Tonight, Owen Benjamin (The House Bunny) brought in a video of himself traipsing around LA offering to write jingles for smaller businesses. As with every other video segment they've done, it just went on and on and on. Even worse, none of the songs were funny.

Here's "He Needs A Kidney" from last night's 30 Rock
by Bob Sassone, posted May 15th 2009 5:50PM
I think my favorite part of this song (and yes it is called "He Needs A Kidney") is the line "a hand would be an even harder thing to give." Lyrics are here. Now tell me, who is the singer who does the "only three of us are drunk" line?
Musical guest stars galore on 30 Rock finale
by Mike Moody, posted May 14th 2009 3:00PM
Alan Alda returns as Jack Donaghy's dad tonight on 30 Rock for the show's season finale, "Kidney Now." The plot finds Jack trying to put together a benefit concert for Alda, who is in need of a kidney. That, of course, means the ep will be loaded with appearances by famous musicians.
Guest stars include Elvis Costello, Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Maroon 5's Adam Levine and Clay Aiken. The clip below reveals some shocking truths about some of these famous crooners, including Aiken's relation to NBC page Kenneth Parcell.

Dancing With The Stars: Week 4 results
by Brett Love, posted Apr 8th 2008 11:30PM

(S06E08) Another week, another results show. But this is no ordinary, run of the mill, results show. After three weeks of keeping the bottom two a secret, this week we finally get an idea of just how that fan vote is going. Even with no prior knowledge of what the fans have been doing with vote, the big question was pretty obvious. Did Adam and Julianne have a big enough fan vote to overcome the 19 from performance night? Along for the ride this week was musical guest Sheryl Crow, and the debut of Dancing With The Little Kids. All that, and more, after the jump.

Idol Gossip: odds and ends for the week of March 26th
by Liz Finn-Arnold, posted Mar 27th 2007 10:30AM
Faridwidjaya.com claims to have the song spoilers for tonight's episode. Go over and check it out if you want to know which two finalists will allegedly be singing Police songs. The desperate MySpacer continues her hunger strike, promising "not to eat" until Sanjaya Malakar is eliminated from the competition. Apparently, "J," as she is called, is NOT a Fanjaya. I'm not either, but I'm not gonna cry about it. Or give up chocolate.
What does Sheryl Crow think about American Idol? Star Magazine has this quote from her: "It undermines art in every way and promotes commercialism. I am sad people love it so." I love you, Sheryl, but lighten up. Besides, you have nothing against using your music to sell Revlon products. And didn't you perform on Big Brother?
Kelly Clarkson signs with...NASCAR
by Brett Love, posted Jan 19th 2007 11:01AM
You might think that Kelly Clarkson has it all. With two Grammy awards, five #1 singles, and over ten million copies of her latest record sold, what more could she ask for? Well, a "NASCAR. How bad have you got it?" commercial of course. The spot is part of a big deal the two have signed. The relationship kicks off February 18th with Clarkson headlining the NEXTEL Tribute To America, live on Fox, before the Daytona 500. The commercial will combine race footage with Clarkson's performance and feature a song from her upcoming third album. She's in good company working with NASCAR. Other musicians that have been part of the promo series include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jewel, Lenny Kravitz, Leann Rimes, and Sheryl Crow.
Teri Hatcher v. Jennifer Lopez
by Anna Johns, posted Feb 9th 2006 8:26AM
Teri Hatcher had to know that when she wore a sheer dress
with boy panties underneath to the Grammy Awards last night, she would be compared to Jennifer Lopez's infamous
green scarf outfit back at
Grammys 2000. Maybe I'm just used to seeing celebrities wear see-through dresses, but I thought J-Lo's outfit
had a lot more impact than Hatcher's. Plus, she looked hotter. Lopez actually has some shape to her body, whereas Teri
Hatcher is so skinny that it's borderline nasty. But, the guys might like that Teri is showing more breast than J-Lo
did and yes, they are real and I hear "they're spectacular".Other fashion you should check out:
Kelly Clarkson wins 2 Grammys and so do some other people
by Anna Johns, posted Feb 9th 2006 8:01AM
What a night for Kelly
Clarkson! She cried when she beat out Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow, Mariah Carey, and Bonnie Raitt for best female pop
performance for her very awesome Since U Been Gone rock hit. Less than an hour later, she nearly broke down as
she sang Because of You. Later in the night, Kelly won her second grammy for best pop vocal album for
Breakaway, an album that was very close to her heart. She wrote or co-wrote half the songs on the album and
divorced her management company over control of the album. Neither of her acceptance speeches mentioned her win on
American Idol. That's a tough call. She obviously wouldn't be where she is if
it weren't for Idol, but at the same time, she legitimized herself as a true
talent this year when she distanced herself from the competition.Other winners:
Singers and their horses
by Anna Johns, posted Jan 5th 2006 11:51AM
Later this month, Animal Planet is debuting a two-hour program about famous rock stars and their horses. Not pets,
just horses. It's called Trail Mix. One of the biggest names on the show is Sheryl Crow, who will talk about
her relationship with her four horses, and how they inspire her songwriting. Other singers on the program include
Aerosmith's Joe Perry, LeeAnn Rhimes, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Irish tenor Ronan Tyan. The show also features former
Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas and his horse(s), which is sort-of surprising to me, because he just doesn't strike me
as the horseback-riding type. I'm not really sure what the horseback-riding type is, but the other singers featured on
the show seem like, yeah, they'd own horses. Two hours is an awful long time to talk about someone else's horses, but
if you're a fan of horses (or of those singers), I guess it could be interesting.Trail Mix premieres on Animal Planet on January 29th from 8-10 pm (ET).
