Model wannabes freak out at America's Next Top Model auditions - VIDEO

by Bob Sassone, posted Mar 15th 2009 3:35PM
America's Next Top ModelIt's like that old saying, "Fashion doesn't kill people - models kill people."

For some reason, a giant fight broke out at the America's Next Top Model auditions at the Park Central New York Hotel in New York City yesterday afternoon. No one is sure what exactly started the craziness, but at the end there were a ton of shoes and other clothing scattered on the street outside of the hotel. If that wasn't enough, six people were injured (two seriously enough to be taken to the hospital) and three people were arrested. Check out the video after the jump of the crowd stampeding. Officials say that the show wasn't prepared for this many people showing up (ya think?). Also there seems to be a car spewing smoke involved and a woman getting slapped. Or something.

Maybe we need a real Fashion Police, not just one that talks about the clothing. Bad girls, bad girls...whatcha gonna do?

Under Armour Shoes: "The Future is Ours"

"We started this thing. It's us vs. them." This commercial was a bit of a mess for me. A bunch of shots of people training as if for various summer olympic events. Setting it up like there's some epic battle looming; a competition. But who are they competing with? Nike, I guess. Honestly, I think it was a bit of a mess. Way too long on a bunch of people grunting and posturing and way too little time showing me the product they're supposed to be promoting. You know ... the shoes.

Got my Vans on, but not on MTV

by Adam Finley, posted Aug 21st 2006 3:32PM
vansRemember back in the day when Run-DMC rapped about their Adidas? Before long, anyone who wanted to be "down" was sporting a pair of them fly shoes and trying to sound cool by using words like "down" and "fly." Anyway, apparently that era is gone because a song by rap group The Pack, titled "Vans," has been shunned by MTV until the group edits their video and changes the name of their song. The network claims the video is too much like an advertisement and not enough like a video. Nevermind the fact that all videos are essentially commercials created to sell albums. It's all part of the package these days, and the only reason the likes of Britney Spears and Shakira are even on the radar. I placed the video after the jump for educational purposes. Oh yeah, and I totally used to have a pair of Vans like the skateboarder is wearing in the opening shot. Damn, I was stupid fresh.
