Has David Tennant signed up for fourth Doctor Who series?
by Martin Conaghan, posted Mar 23rd 2007 6:40PM
The Daily Mirror newspaper in the UK is claiming that Scottish actor David Tennant has signed a £1million deal to continue playing the lead role in Doctor Who for a fourth season. Given that the fourth season was only confirmed in the last few days by the show's executive producer, Russell T. Davies, it doesn't seem unlikely that news of Tennant's committment (or abandonment) would soon follow (especially since it helps keep The Doctor in the headlines in the run up to the new series starting on 31 March).
Snazzy auctions with Venture Bros., The Tick, Angel goodies
by Annie Wu, posted Nov 17th 2006 2:01PM
Lisa Hammer, voice of Triana Orpheus on The Venture Bros., heads a filmmaking company called Blessed Elysium, which usually makes a lot of wacky, surrealist short films of the German Expressionist persuasion. Her latest project is a feature film called POX, currently in post-production. The Blessed Elysium team is looking for a bit of help in funds for POX, so some excellent Ebay auctions have been set up. The TV-related items include this fantastic Venture Bros. lot, which contains a DVD, picture of Triana, and a few script pages with some Jackson Publick sketches (all items are signed). Hey hey! Perfect holiday gift for your favorite Venture Bros.-loving blogger friend whose name begins with an "A" and ends with "Nnie".There are also some super-special panels from The Tick comic and a script from Angel, both signed by Ben Edlund. Oh, and here's a Vanna White doll. I'm not quite sure what's going on with that.

Bob Saget to host 1 Vs. 100 game show
by Joel Keller, posted Aug 8th 2006 6:26PM
Just when we think that Bob Saget has moved into the realm of the cool, he reverts back to the lame-ass form he displayed through most of the eighties and nineties.Case in point: fresh off a career-changing appearance in the filthy-joke documentary The Aristocrats, and on the heels of directing the forthcoming satire Farce of the Penguins, Saget has been signed to host... a game show. Saget has signed to host NBC's game show 1 Vs. 100, based on a worldwide hit show that pits one contestant against 100 in a trivia contest. Because NBC sees this as a companion to Deal or No Deal, they figured they should follow the same formula: hire a stand-up comedian with some edge and a ready-made TV fanbase.
So, will we get a TV-fied version of the edgy Saget from the last few years, or the bland, unfunny Saget we saw on Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos? Who would you rather see?
