Construction of HGTV Dream Home upsetting neighbors
This year will mark the tenth year that Home and Garden television
will be giving away a new home. Construction is currently
underway on the new home in the Blue Ridge foothills area of Lake Lure, North Carolina, but some of the people in the
neighborhood aren't too happy about it. According to them, a large amount of sediment from the construction
site is finding its way into waterways and adjoining communities. Such runoff is a violation of the law, and can
result in a $5,000 per day penalty, or a stop-work order. Land Resource Companies, the company constructing the home,
claims they've taken measures to make sure there's no runoff from the site. At least whoever wins this beautiful new
home will be able to start their new life knowing their neighbors absolutely loathe them.
