Simon Cowell Disses Howard Stern as 'Idol' Candidate
by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 19th 2010 11:33AM
I don't believe that Howard Stern has been asked to replace Simon Cowell when Cowell leaves 'American Idol,' nor do I think that Stern really wants the job, even if he keeps talking about it on his SIRIUS show. 'Idol' fans would hate him being on it (can't imagine that 'Idol' fans and Stern fans overlap too much), and Stern's fans will hate it too and accuse him of selling out and being lame. According to The Live Feed, Cowell doesn't think Stern has been asked either, but if he has, he doesn't think he's a good choice.Cowell says that the show needs someone with music industry experience, someone who can "spot a star."
Now I'll say what everyone is going to say about Cowell's comments: what about Ellen and her lack of music industry experience? It seems that Cowell is talking about the only type of person who could replace him, not who could replace any of the other judges.
