American Idol: Denver Auditions

by Lacy Hall, posted Jan 19th 2006 9:22AM
aiI liked Bo and Constantine. They brought a rock element to American Idol, and I dug it. Little did I know that their success would bring an onslaught of rock n' rollers/out of controllers auditioning for AI. Awesome. Now, instead of simply listening to wannabes slaughter great pop songs, we're also treated to the torture of rock hits as well. I use to like Bo and Constantine. I now love them. Kaylee and Simon are looking at what turns out to be a mutated cow fetus but which the carnival barker outside is hawking as proof of alien life. Simon tries to compliment her on her looks and how special he is but manages to flub it. Mal meanwhile is having trouble fencing the gun he stole in the last episode. This is some sort of visitor's oasis and everyone checks in with the local post office for some mail. Jayne gets what turns out to be a fantastic wool knit hat from his mother and Mal and Zoe get a coffin with the body of old war buddy.

Paula and SimonAaron Barnhart over at TV Barn wonders if American Idol has worn out it's welcome. He makes some good points ("Wednesday's two-hour finale did seem like a half-hour program that had been tortured out of its mind"), and he wonders why they included that sketch that seemed to make fun of the whole Paula Abdul/Corey Clark scandal.
