Kelly Rowland Guest Stars as a DJ Impressed With Reed on 'Single Ladies' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 26th 2011 1:36AM
Kelly Rowland, 'Single Ladies'April's efforts on Reed's behalf paid off for him in perhaps unexpected ways. Certainly more than April intended, as Kelly Rowland made a guest appearance on 'Single Ladies' (Mon., 9PM ET on VH1) as a local DJ.

April did a great job of getting Reed's CD into her hands, but when Reed himself showed up, Rowland's character, Denise, was more interested in getting him into her hands.

Poor April tried to hang on to the moment as long as she could, lingering through the heavy flirting, and Denise deciding that Reed's CD needed to be heard on a better sound system. The kind of sound system her Mercedes had.

Queen Latifah Caught With Val, Or Close Enough for the Paparazzi, on 'Single Ladies' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 12th 2011 6:04AM
Queen Latifah, 'Single Ladies'Just when Val was hoping she could put this whole gay rumor with her old college roommate Sharon Love behind her on 'Single Ladies' (Mon., 9PM ET on VH1), the paparazzi showed up and ruin everything.

Of course, when Sharon -- guest star Queen Latifah -- started brushing wool off of Val's rear end, what did they expect to happen?

Sharon was actually hoping to push the gay angle as a career booster. She had her eye on the black, big-boned woman-sized hole in the daytime television landscape and declared that "gay is the new black."

But Val is trying to make things work with Jerry, which isn't made easier by that picture of her and Sharon on the cover of a tabloid magazine with the headline 'Sharon & Val Caught in the Act During a Sexy Shopping Spree!' We love how the details are completely made up.

Queen Latifah Guests on 'Single Ladies,' Drops a Bombshell Secret About Val (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 5th 2011 5:42AM
Queen Latifah, 'Single Ladies'College is a lot like Las Vegas for many people. What happened there, they'd really rather stay there. But, if secrets are going to come out, you'd probably rather it didn't happen via a news telecast. Unfortunately for Val on 'Single Ladies' (Mon., 9PM ET on VH1), that's exactly where her dirty laundry aired.

Apparently, Sharon Love -- played by series executive producer Queen Latifah -- and her on-air cohort didn't realize they were still on the air after she teased a story about women sleeping with one another, but not defining themselves as lesbians.

And, of course, the cameras kept rolling as she told him that she had in fact slept with a woman in her past, her college roommate Val. Cue Val walking into the room to meet the stunned expressions of Keisha and April.

Friends New and Old Trying to Bury the Past on 'Single Ladies' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 31st 2011 6:09AM
'Single Ladies'VH1 gets scripted with the premiere of 'Single Ladies' (Mon., 8PM ET on VH1) from Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Entertainment. The comedy features Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy and Charity Shea as three friends, each on the lookout for true love.

April (Shea) believes she's found it, but worries that her more wild past might come back to haunt her; particularly a fling with the mayor. Luckily, when the story breaks about the mayor having a mistress, it turns out to be someone else. But if you think that will get April to straighten out her ways, you're probably sorely mistaken.

When Val (Dash) opens her own boutique, the friends meet Christina (Kassandra Clement), who turns out to be even wilder than any of them. "I get engaged a lot," she told them at one point after a breakup. "I actually left the last one at the altar."

Chris Colfer on the Whirlwind World of 'Glee'

by Joel Keller, posted Apr 27th 2010 3:05PM
Chris Colfer as Kurt in 'Glee'If there is any character amongst the kids on 'Glee' that's poised for a breakout, it's Kurt Hummel, mainly because of the confident acting of Chris Colfer.

A self-professed theater nerd, the 19-year-old Colfer has been having a ball playing Kurt; but along with all the fabulousness, he's also been doing a good job of making Kurt a multi-dimensional character in his limited screen time.

Colfer is featured in tonight's episode, 'Home,' where Kurt schemes to get closer to Finn by pairing up his single father Burt (played by Mike O'Malley) and Finn's mother. The results backfire a bit, pointing out yet again the difficulties Kurt has of being the gay, musical-theater-loving son of a guy who's more comfortable talking about Tim Tebow than Stephen Sondheim.

Colfer sat down with me last week to talk about the whirlwind that's been 'Glee's' first year, going to visit Oprah and the White House, if he's afraid of a backlash, and the weirdest place he's seen the paparazzi.

Glee: Preggers

by Allison Waldman, posted Sep 23rd 2009 10:02PM
Fox_Glee_Kurt_Hummel(S01E04) Lies, lies and damn lies. There are plenty of them on Glee in between the musical numbers, but in a truly fine episode like this one, at least one major truth emerges and that's what you take away from the show. Still, it's that darn song I'm humming and one more reason Glee keeps me coming back.

By the way, before we go on, how great is it that Glee has been renewed for a full season? Way to go, Fox! Yes, maybe it was a given that this show would be given a chance, but there are no sure things, and I think the network deserves a thumbs up when they take a chance. Anyway, more on tonight's show and all the plot developments after the jump.

TV Squad Ten: Things I learned at the TCAs

by Joel Keller, posted Aug 11th 2009 2:30PM
Gordon Ramsay cooks along w/ the critics @ TCAsAs usual, I've come back from the TCA press tour with a voice recorder full of great interviews and a brain made of mush. Because of the mush-brain part, I'm sure I'll go back and listen to some of the interviews and find that the ones I thought were full of golden nuggets of wit turn out to be full of nothing but platitudes.

That's okay, though; the tour was a lot of fun and I got to talk to a lot of interesting people. I mean, where else can you talk to Maria from Sesame Street, Alan Alda, Norman Lear, and Patti Smith.... all in the same day? It's amazing who you feel empowered to talk to when you have a press credential around your neck and a voice recorder in your hand.

But I also learned a bunch of other things during the tour, mostly about the upcoming season, but also a few other things as well:

Bobby Moynihan: In the Limelight - VIDEOS

by Annie Wu, posted Apr 10th 2009 12:02PM
Bobby MoynihanAt one point or another during this latest season of Saturday Night Live, every viewer has wondered, "Who is this new guy, and why does he wear so many giant cat costumes?"

While I can't answer the second part of this question (it will remain one of the great mysteries of the late night universe), I can offer a little more information on SNL's resident new guy and rising star, Bobby Moynihan. Despite appearing as a featured player in only twenty episodes so far, Moynihan is fast becoming one of my favorite cast members on the show, right up there with Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig.

Fellow Moynihan fans, prepare to love him even more!
