The Web site for The Simpsons Movie has been sitting around not doing much of anything lately, but finally, it has launched. Not all the parts of the site are online just yet, but there's a couple fun games and an avatar builder. The character on the right is the Simpsons version of me, though it doesn't look much like me since eyeglasses aren't an option, and you can't add stubble. It's sorta me as a ten year old boy.

Speaking of the movie, which premieres July 27, I've placed a new trailer at the end of this post. This one gives us an even better glimpse of what to expect. You can tell they went all out to make the movie truly cinematic, and not just another episode of the series slapped up on a theater screen.

Finally, the anticipated premiere date of season 19 is September 23. That's only a few short months away.

Or is that "Star Wars Robot Chicken?"

Well, whatever, the main site for the upcoming Robot Chicken tribute to all things Star Wars has been updated with a bunch of kick ass new production stills (including images from the upcoming special as well as older images from past Robot Chicken parodies), a brand new trailer, and a hilarious therapist session featuring the man himself, George Lucas. He even talks about that dreaded Star Wars Holiday Special. Talk about opening up old wounds.

Can you believe Jay Leno has been hosting The Tonight Show for fifteen years? Believe it, mister. On May 25, 1992, Leno stepped onto the stage as the new host, following in the footsteps of the legendary Johnny Carson.

Fans can go to this page on The Tonight Show Web site and create their own montage using clips and audio from the last fifteen years. I've been scouring the site and have not found an option that allows you to insert Carson back into every episode that has aired since his retirement, which is what myself and many others would like to do.

It was also announced about three years ago that Leno would be stepping down as host in 2009 and that Late Night host Conan O'Brien would take over as the new host. Given the mercurial nature of television, it will be interesting to see if that remains the case in two years.

Turner Broadcasting will be unveiling a new broadband comedy site in January called Super Deluxe. I don't know why they didn't give it a more comedic name, since "Super Deluxe" sounds like some kind of sandwich, but there you go. The new site, according to a press release, will feature both new and established comic talent and is meant to provide a place for comedians to develop and broadcast new ideas to the online audience. This will include short films, sketches and original online series. The site will also feature tools that allow users to upload their own content and communicate with the comedians in an open forum.

I guess we'll have to wait until January to see if this delivers anything worthwhile, but I will say I think it sounds like a cool idea, a kind of combination of YouTube and Comedy Central's Motherload. Then again, everything this new site offers can pretty much be done on YouTube, and already has. The key to standing out might be in developing a "community" that rivals that of YouTube's.

ABC and auction site eBay are teaming up for what is ostensibly a reality show about helping people, but upon further inspection sounds like a long form commercial for eBay. The new show, which has the working title of Make it Happen, will focus on families who have big dreams but a lack of finances to make them come true. In swoops eBay, where the family will be able to auction off items they own in order to garner enough money to make whatever "fun and attainable" dreams they have come true. ABC apparently wants to keep the show light and fun, so people aren't allowed to have dreams of any serious nature. Essentially, this sounds like the television equivalent of being down on your luck and lugging your stereo to the pawn shop for cash. Of course, the payoff on this show will be much more, but I'm not sure I understand the allure of being asked to get rid of what you own in order to have your wish fulfilled.
