Former 'American Idol' Contestants Have a Cook-Off on 'Rachael Ray' (VIDEO)

Stefano Langone, Paul McDonald, and Pia Toscano from 'American Idol' on 'Rachael Ray'Stefano Langone, Paul McDonald and Pia Toscano may not have won this season's 'American Idol,' but today they had a chance at a different prize. The three former 'Idol' contestants held a cook-off on 'Rachael Ray' (weekdays, syndicated) as part of the 'Rival Ray' segment. Toscano made a quesadilla she described as "the bomb," McDonald made a grilled cheese sandwich, and Langone a pasta dish.

Langone was particularly confident. "I hope that the judges have good taste buds," he said. "Because if they do, I'm taking the crown home." Toscano and her bomb were eliminated first; Langone and his pasta were indeed the last ones standing.

The win actually comes with a little gold statue. If you squint, it kind of looks like an Emmy. So Langone won bragging rights, especially if he has friends with poor vision.

'American Idol' Top 7 Results: Who Was Eliminated? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 22nd 2011 12:40AM
'American Idol' resultsLast week, Paul McDonald broke the streak of five consecutive girls sent home on 'American Idol' (Thu., 8PM ET on FOX). With only two remaining in the Top Seven, Jennifer Lopez made no bones about not wanting to see a girl go home this week.

When the show brought out the eliminated contestants last week for an opening performance, the gender bias of the season was painfully obvious, as poor McDonald tried to keep up with the five girls on a girl-power song.

When Ryan Seacrest started whittling down the contestants, the favorites stayed out of the line of fire. Of the seven remaining contestants, only three of them have been in the Bottom Three before. And they made up the Bottom Three this week.

'American Idol' Results: Top Nine Shocking Elimination (VIDEO)

'American Idol' elimination resultsThe judges saved Casey Abrams a couple of weeks ago, so that option isn't around anymore. That means 'American Idol' (Thu., 8PM ET on FOX) is counting on you to get it right each and every week. But there's been almost no consistency in the Bottom Three this season.

So far we've seen Haley, Stefano, Paul and Casey in the Bottom Three this season among the remaining contestants. And this week continued the trend of seeing some new faces in the bottom. It's harder than ever to predict what the American public is looking for.

But one thing everyone seemed to agree on, was that this week's eliminated contestant should not have been going home so soon.

'Idol's Jennifer Lopez on Stefano Langone: 'You Could Take This Thing' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 16th 2011 11:53PM
Stefano Langone, 'American Idol'If you don't know Stefano Langone by now, he made a strong case for you to start remembering him on 'American Idol' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX) this week. The theme was songs from the year of your birth, which had Langone using the way-back machine to reach into 1989. There, he picked up Simply Red's version of 'If You Don't Know Me By Now.'

It was a surprisingly strong performance, or maybe we're getting surprised by Langone every week because he's not one of the "superstars" the 'Idol' hype machine seems to be shoving down our throats. But he opened up this week and delivered "the best performance of the night so far," according to Randy Jackson.

"You could take this thing," Jennifer Lopez predicted. If he keeps demanding to be noticed like this, he's going to really start making a name for himself in this competition.

'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.

Stefano Langone Reminds the Judges Why They Love Him on His Way to the Top 13 on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

Stefano Langone Wild Card Pick Top 13, 'American Idol'Stefano Langone must have taken all that he was feeling about not making the 'American Idol' (Thu., 8PM ET on FOX) Top 10 based on America's vote, and channelled it into his wild card performance of Smokie Norful's 'I Need You Now.'

It was such a heartfelt performance that it took Steven Tyler back to when they first met Langone on the road. "You brought all that stuff I heard in the beginning that made me fall in love with your voice to that song just now," he told Langone.

Later, the judges rewarded him with one of the final three slots, creating the Top 13 who'll compete for America's votes. Langone was subdued and appreciative at being picked, but don't let that calm demeanor fool you. His performance told it all. This guy has power and passion.

'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.
