Supernatural: Bloodlust

(S02E03) Supernatural does music better than just about anyone, and this week's episode started with two great songs. Wheels In The Sky over the previously on scenes, and then Back In Black to reintroduce the Impala. Very slick. I thought coming in that we would probably get an episode that dropped the overall arc in favor of a creature of the week show. For the most part, that's what we got. There was a much more relaxed vibe as we got into this episode. The big setup scene with the girl running from the baddie reminded me of the Friday the 13th movies. Right up until the baddie started sprinting anyway. Jason, while a killing machine, is more tortoise, less hare. Of course the beauty of this scene was revealed later. After Dean and Sam run their Weekly World News scam (HA!), they get into the morgue to get a look at the girls head, and what do you know, she's a vampire. Cool special effects shot with the fang too. Suddenly everything we saw in the opening is flipped around.
