Dr. Mehmet Oz has a new show debuting on September 14 (thanks Oprah!), and the show is going to be taped right next to the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon studio at NBC. Last night he gave Fallon a tour.

Oh, if you're wondering why Fallon is taking off surgical gloves at the start of the tip, he had just given Oz a rectal exam.

Every time I hear the name of Jimmy Fallon's "late night show soap opera" 7th Floor West, I think of Central Park West, the short-lived 90s soap from Darren Star that aired on CBS. I really liked that show, even if everyone else didn't. But this soap follows the adventures of Fallon and his staff their NBC studio. Here's the first episode, and you can watch the others (episode 7 debuts on July 13) at the 7th Floor West site.

Sparkly dresses, disco tunes, platform shoes, Studio 54... it's all about the 1970's in Showtime's new drama, Studio, which centers on the iconic New York nightclub that brought it all home.

Bryan Singer -- undoubtedly one of the busiest guys in Hollywood -- is in talks to direct the pilot, with writer Chad Hodge and Hairspray producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron helming the project.

Studio will begin in the months leading up to the club's April 1977 opening. Though fictional, the series will revolve around the real-life co-founder of the club, the flamboyant Steve Rubell.

BET has been pushing to get into the animation game, and the network has just taken the next step by partnering with Film Roman, the animation studio behind both The Simpsons and King of the Hill, as well as other great but departed animated series such as The Critic, The Oblongs, Bobby's World, and Mission Hill. The combination of Film Roman's track record and comic artist Denys Cowan serving as vice prez of animation for BET could be a great thing for the network, at least I hope it is. My only expectation is that they try something different and offer animation fans another distinct choice from all the pre-existing cartoons that are already in production.

Surprise, surprise. Donald Trump is opening up his own production studio and he has tapped a contestant from The Apprentice to run it. Anybody remember Andy Litinsky? He is the young college student from Harvard who appeared on season two of The Apprentice. He was fired-- only for being young. Three months after the show ended, Andy was hired by Trump to work as a project manager for his real estate ventures. Specifically, he managed the construction of the 64-story Trump International Hotel and Condominium in Las Vegas. Now he's been tapped to head up Trump's yet-to-be-named production company. The reason for starting it, according to Trump, is to develop new programs. I'd be totally skeptical of this venture, considering Trump's past with beauty pageants, except that Andy is in charge. Is he edgy? Who knows? He's young and completely inexperienced in television production; hopefully no preconceived notions about how "the industry" works. Perfect for accidentally stumbling upon some great hit!
