Painkiller Jane coming in 2007
by Adam Finley, posted Oct 21st 2006 7:03PM
In November, production will begin on a new hour-long drama for the SciFi Channel titled Painkiller Jane, based on the Dynamite Entertainment comic book of the same name. The new series will feature Kristanna Loken of Terminator 3 as the titular character, a woman who can instantly heal and regenerate from any injury, but still feels pain, nonetheless. She works for a covert agency and hunts "Neuros," powerful humans with super mental powers. The series is set to premiere next Spring, with a syndication deal scheduled for the Fall. Twenty-two episodes of the series have been ordered. The original comic book was created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada for Event Comics in the mid '90s before switching over to Dynamite Entertainment, a company that also publishes comic book versions of Xena and Battlestar Galactica. The Tick out on DVD August 29 (probably)
by Adam Finley, posted May 16th 2006 10:03AM
As I mentioned before, The Tick animated series is coming to DVD. At the time it wasn't clear what the exact release date would be, and while it's still not absolutely official yet, August 29 seems to be the date that's getting kicked around right now. The series, which aired as part of the FoxKids Saturday Morning Block for thirty-six episodes starting in 1994, featured Townsend Coleman as the voice of The Tick and was based on the short-lived series of comics by Ben Edlund. In all likelihood, Disney will release the entire season eventually. Thanks to Sean for the tip.TV Squad Hot Topics
