Carter Jenkins of Surface: The TV Squad Interview
So we've already
told you that Surface is the best new show of the season, and why you should be watching it. I recently
talked with Carter Jenkins, who plays Miles, the shy, curious, lizard-loving teen who started the whole thing when
he brought an egg he found in the water into his home and now might be turning into a lizard thing himself. He called
from California, after wrapping up filming on the NBC show for the season.
Carter Jenkins: Bob!
Bob Sassone: Hey man, how's it going?
Best and Worst of 2005: Bob's list
The Best
- Eyes: One of the smartest, most stylish private eye shows to come along in years. So ABC cancels it quickly and doesn't even run the remaining episodes.
- Surface: The best of the sci-fi/horror shows (Threshold, Invasion, Supernatural) that debuted this year.
- The Daily Show: Always dead-on, always funny.
- Arrested Development: I don't know if this show is as funny as it used to be, but even at 90% strength it's better than most other comedies.
- Lost: I don't know if they'll ever have answers for all the questions, but the ride so far has been great.
NBC Fall Preview now online
One of the many great things about the web: you can see previews of the new fall season any time, night or day! NBC has several videos up at their site (hosted by Vanessa Marcil and Nikki Cox of Las Vegas) that give a sneak peek at new shows such as Surface, The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, E-Ring, and My Name Is Earl. Surface looks like B-movie fun, but E-Ring seems like West Wing lite.
You have to sit through a Toyota commercial (and one that's a couple of years old at that), but you get to see some longer previews than what we've seen on TV so far.
