Could J.R. Martinez Save 'All My Children?' Creator Agnes Nixon Speaks Out
There's been an outcry since the news broke yesterday that Prospect Park has suspended its plan to move cancelled soaps 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live' online. Many of the actors involved have taken to Twitter and Facebook to vent, and the unions involved have issued statements saying don't blame us for the failure.Now the soaps' creator, Agnes Nixon has spoken out, saying there's still plenty more life in the old shows yet. According to 'The Daily Beast' she's even come up with "a compelling plot" starring brand new 'DWTS' champ J.R. Martinez. He played police officer Brot Monroe on the soap for three years until it was cancelled back in April.

Susan Lucci took to her Facebook page to clear up some rumors about her future and the status of 'All My Children.' Unconfirmed reports had Lucci turning down Prospect Park's offer to remain with the soap opera when it moved online. Then, news broke that 'All My Children' has been delayed and it won't be joining 'One Life to Live' on The Online Network this January. Is she to blame? No way, according to the star.
"I want my fans to know the truth," Lucci wrote. "There has been miscommunications as a result of statements in the press that I am one of the reasons that 'All My Children' is not moving forward. This is simply untrue and not the case."
Susan Lucci Joins 'Army Wives'
'All My Children' star Susan Lucci has booked her first role since the end of the long-running ABC soap. According to TVLine, Lucci will appear on multiple episodes of Lifetime's hit 'Army Wives.'Lucci will play the wife of a retired general. Look for Lucci's character to give Kim Delaney's character, Claudia, advice on how to deal with a potential new rival played by 'Lie to Me' actress Kelli Williams.
Lucci will appear in at least two episodes of the hit drama's sixth season. Williams will appear in at least seven.
'All My Children' ended its run on ABC in September. The soap is set to move online in early 2012 with fellow ABC castoff 'One Life to Live.'
'The View' Bids 'All My Children' an Emotional Farewell (VIDEO)
'All My Children' aired its TV finale episode today, (and ended with a shocking cliffhanger) before the beloved soap moves online in 2012. With Susan Lucci guest-hosting, 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) bid 'AMC' an emotional farewell.In a montage that featured backstage footage of the cast and the behind-the-scenes players who made the show possible, 'AMC' producer Julie Hanan Carruthers set the tone. "This isn't a job for those of us who do it ... it's a life choice. It consumes your life in everything you do. So to do it, you have to love it, or you can't do it well," she said.
Series creator Agnes Nixon then read the show's credo as a toast to the entire cast: "The great and the least, for rich and for poor, in tragedy and triumph, you are 'All My Children.'"

The 'All My Children' finale certainly tried its hardest to give viewers a reason to tune into the series once it moves online. The beloved soap ended with a cliffhanger that hearkened back to the 'Dallas' finale, but instead of "Who shot J.R.?" it was, "Who did J.R. shoot?"
It all happened after Susan Lucci's Erica Kane rejected a marriage proposal from her longtime beau Jackson Montgomery. "I don't want to get married," she said. "As much as I want to be with you, I don't want to rush into some wedding just to reassure you that I'm not going anywhere."
"I wish you the best of luck in L.A., and in the rest of your life, without me," he said, walking out the door.
As Erica pleaded with him to stay and dramatic music played, he delivered a line that referenced 'Gone With the Wind.' "Frankly Erica, I don't give a damn about what you need."

'All My Children' Online: First Cast Members Announced, What Will Susan Lucci Do?
The lights will go dark for the last time in Pine Valley this week as fans bid a tearful farewell to veteran TV soap 'All My Children.'However, preparations to relaunch 'AMC' as an online series are gathering steam, and it's been announced that some cast members have agreed to stay with the show when it moves to online production.
Prospect Park, the company that's taking over from ABC in producing 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live' issued a statement Monday confirming that Cameron Mathison, who plays Ryan Lavery, and Lindsay Hartley, who plays Dr. Cara Castillo Martin, have agreed deals to join the company's new production of 'All My Children.'

Susan Lucci is reportedly done with 'All My Children.' The only original cast member on the long-running soap has turned down an offer to move online with the series in 2012, according to Deadline.The Deadline report says Prospect Park offered Lucci a very similar salary to what ABC was paying her, but the actress asked for more money, fewer hours and the ability to do a primetime series.
'One Life to Live' stars Erika Slezak, Michael Easton, Ted King and Kassie DePaiva will remain with the show when it heads online in 2012.
Deadline reports Prospect Park may focus its resources on 'One Life to Live,' which had higher Nielsen ratings than 'All My Children,' and push 'All My Children' to the back since Lucci will not continue with the soap opera. Both shows are scheduled to debut online in early 2012.

Susan Lucci has added a juicy new chapter to her memoir, slamming ABC daytime executive Brian Frons for canceling 'All My Children.' "I watched Brian Frons' decisions destroy the production of our show and the lives of people on both sides of the country," she wrote.But why did the Emmy-winning actress do it? Her publisher, HarperCollins, asked her to.
"The book had gone to print well before the cancellation and they felt my story wasn't complete without my response to the show going off the air," Lucci told TV Guide Magazine. "They wanted my honest and raw reaction to it. At first I didn't know what to say or even think. I was so upset and angry and stunned that my eyeballs were spinning in my head. But I sat down with my co-writer, Laura Morton, and we talked it through. And it is indeed raw. Very raw."

According TV Guide, 'The View' is planning a special salute to 'All My Children' to air the same day as the historic soap's ABC finale.'All My Children' star Susan Lucci will co-host the show along with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. Special guests include 'AMC' creator Agnes Nixon, Cameron Mathison, Rebecca Budig and Vincent Irizarry.
However, that's not all, look for surprise appearances by several other 'All My Children' stars -- past and present.

We're getting down to the wire before 'All My Children' leaves ABC, so what better way to celebrate the historic soap than with a marathon?SOAPnet will dedicate a block of programming to the couples of 'All My Children' and the daytime queen herself, Susan Lucci.
"I Love Lucci" starts Sat., Sept 17 at 7PM and lasts until 12AM. "'All My Children': Last Chance for Romance" airs from 5PM-12AM on Sun., Sept. 18. The couples marathon will feature episodes focused on Cliff & Nina, Jenny & Greg, Tad & Dixie, Ryan & Gillian, Leo & Greenlee, Zach & Kendall and Angie & Jesse.

'All My Children' without Susan Lucci? Don't fret just yet!According to Deadline, Lucci is mulling over an offer to stay with the soap after it moves from ABC daytime to a new unnamed online home.
Despite news of budget cuts, the report says Lucci's pay would remain close to what she's making now, while the series airs on ABC.
'All My Children' departs ABC on Fri., Sept. 23, but not before a parade of former stars stop by. Josh Duhamel recently returned to Pine Valley and Carol Burnett and Sarah Michelle Gellar are set to make appearances before the September broadcast finale.

Now that 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live' are safe, the real waiting game begins: Who's staying and who's going?While the New York Post's initial report about ABC selling the rights of the two soaps to Prospect Park stated Susan Lucci was staying with 'All My Children,' that's still up in the air. Actors have yet to enter in negotiations with the new boss.
"I know Susan thinks it's great news for the fans that it seems a deal is in the works so that 'AMC' can continue. I don't have any information at this point on Susan's upcoming plans," Lucci's representative told FOX411.com.

On 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), Susan Lucci revealed that an evil double is responsible for Erica Kane's wedding day kidnapping on the long-running sudser 'All My Children.'In addition to Kane, Lucci will play Jane Campbell, a woman who's modeled herself after Kane. And, Lucci said, this is actually a modern storyline, as opposed to a well-worn soap device. "This is not a twin. It's a very contemporary storyline about identity theft that could be done in modern times," she said.
