'So You Think You Can Dance Canada': Down to the Top 6
by Bryan Cairns, posted Aug 31st 2011 2:15PM

With the threat of a double elimination looming, 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada's Top 8 put everything on the line Monday. No one disappointed, but in the end, ballroom dancer Denitsa Ikonomova and jazz dancer Adam LoPapa were cut.
This morning, the talented twosome spoke exclusively to AOL TV Canada about clothes, sex appeal and owning the stage.
'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' Sends Home Francois and Yuliya
by Bryan Cairns, posted Aug 24th 2011 2:35PM
'So You Think You Can Dance Canada's Top 10 definitely did not disappoint on Tuesday night. In fact, the dancers displayed some of the season's best routines.
Alas, with viewers now voting on individual dancers instead of couples, ballroom's Francois Pruneau and Yuliya Zavadska were sent home. The two obviously have a lot to be proud of and spoke with AOL TV Canada about finding their rhythm, nicknames and their fellow contestants.

by Bryan Cairns, posted Aug 11th 2011 9:00AM
Early on in 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada,' hip-hop dancers Carlena Britch and JP Dubé found themselves in the bottom three. The two survived to perform another day, but they weren't so lucky this week and were eliminated. Extremely upbeat and optimistic, Carlena and JP dished to AOL TV Canada about hip-hop and their highlights from the competition.

'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' Says Goodbye to Shelaina and Kevin
by Bryan Cairns, posted Aug 3rd 2011 3:32PM
No one is safe. That was the glaring message on last night's 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada.' Despite a mesmerizing performance that packed an emotional wallop and impressed the judges, contemporary dancers Shelaina Anderson and Kevin Howe were sent home. This morning, the charming couple spoke with AOL TV Canada about leaving the show and what they've gained from this experience.

'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' Sends Home Dwayne and Teya
by Bryan Cairns, posted Jul 27th 2011 4:00PM

It's that dreaded time again. After 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' reassigned partners, the Top 18 strutted their stuff and dazzled the audience with some fancy footwork. Unfortunately, hip-hop dancers Dwayne "Boneless" Gulston and Teya Wild somehow failed to connect with viewers and they were eliminated. Despite the outcome, the two were in high spirits as they spoke with AOL TV Canada about krumping and the recent disturbing hip-hop trend on the series.
'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' Says Goodbye to Rodrigo and Lauren
by Bryan Cairns, posted Jul 20th 2011 2:01PM

'So You Think You Can Dance Canada's elimination night is never easy for anyone, and after landing in the bottom three last week, salsa dancer Lauren Lyn and hip-hop dancer Rodrigo Basurto bounced back with a high-octane, swag-tastic hip-hop number. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep them around and the charismatic couple was sent packing.
Jumping on the phone with AOL TV Canada, Lauren and Rodrigo spoke about six-packs, injuries and impressing the judges.
'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' Sends Home First Pair of Contestants
by Bryan Cairns, posted Jul 13th 2011 2:35PM

No one wants to be sent home (especially first!), but on last night's 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada,' jazz dancer Cassandra Flammini and contemporary dancer Adam Asselin-Rioux were season 4's first eliminated contestants.
It was especially bittersweet for Montreal's Adam A, who, after just not making the top 22, was called in last minute to replace an injured Moses. AOL TV Canada caught up with Cassandra and Adam A, who reflected on what went wrong and their future plans.
What to Watch: December 27 - January 2

Desperate Housewives - Sunday January 2, 9PM ET/PT, CTV/ABCHow did I miss this? There was a riot on Wisteria Lane. An honest-to-goodness trampling, and it turns out I'm totally in touch with the mob mentality, because I also would have trampled straight for Susan. Check out the picture -- doesn't it look like Shawn Majumder turned up to help sqaush out the whining that is Susan? Awesome -- I support you Shawn! Anyhow, she's in hospital, but I have a feeling it won't be fatal. Meanwhile it looks like someone shot creepy Paul Young, and man-candy Brian Austin Green moves in with Bree.
Recap: 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' And the Winner Is...

I wouldn't say I'm high-maintenance, I just have high expectations. It takes a lot to impress me. If you've been following my TV Squad posts about this season's SYTYCDC, you'll know I've felt less than satisfied on several occasions -- when Edgar was voted off, from the shameless the plugs for Lise Watier makeup (from what I can tell, it doesn't make anyone look good), from Jean Marc Genereux's squawking. But that wasn't the case tonight. I was blown away by the calibre of the season finale's production.
For the first hour and a half we were treated to group performances from our Top 21 finalists and "favourite" duets as chosen by the judges. It was a recap of everything the judges loved about Season 3. I also enjoyed being able relive some of my favourite routines (there were so many, I can't highlight just one or two!). Before the winner was announced, each Final Four dancer performed one last time. They were also given the chance to chat about their experiences with the judges.
Recap: 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' Final Four Perform
by Sarah Kelsey, posted Oct 21st 2010 12:00PM

We're almost there, Canada... Down to the final four of this season of SYTYCDC. At this point, I can barely remember our top 22, but I can't imagine a better ending for this show: Amanda, Denys, Janick and Jeff. Tonight, all four were given the opportunity to show Canada why they should be crowned this season's SYTYCDC champ, performing a solo routine and two duets each.
Though there are two clear front-runners (Amanda and Denys), all of the dancers gave their numbers their all -- smiles were plastered on everyone's faces, even when speaking with the judges (though the judges were full of nothing but compliments tonight).

Tonight's 'SYTYCDC' was sort of like a punch in the face.
At first it hurt.
It started off with this crazy stripper routine choreographed by I-like-to-raise-my-voice-a-bit-too-much Jean-Marc Genereux. The risque routine saw the four gals performing as strippers; the guys were the strip club's patrons clamouring for the ladies' attention. Um. OK.

We're getting very close to the finish line, Canada. Soon our weeks will be void of the glory that is Leah Miller.
That's right, we're down to the Top 8 performers. It's exciting. And though I've lost my favourite dancer, I'm still giving this season's dancers the benefit of my doubt. Here's how I rank the final eight performers.
Recap: 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada': Onto the Top 8
by Sarah Kelsey, posted Oct 8th 2010 10:18AM

This sucks. For the past few weeks, I've done a pretty good job of jumping on the bandwagon of this season's top dancers. I haven't shed a tear over losing my fave to Canada's shoddy voting. I've been lucky enough to see the people I've been rooting for perform each week. That all changed tonight. Two of this show's top performers and one of my Top 10 favourites -- Edgar and Charlene -- were voted off.
I loved their performances this week; they brought the house down. And it's no surprise I'm deeply in love with Edgar's moves -- if you need a refresher, click here. Charlene I'm less devastated about. Sebastian and Nathalie rounded out this week's bottom four.

by Sarah Kelsey, posted Oct 7th 2010 10:29AM

I'm in love with the way this episode started. Not only are we finally onto the Top 10, we're finally -- FINALLY -- judging each dancer based on their own skills. And I love Top 10 lists. So instead of compiling what this show was all about (we get it, they were dancing), I thought I'd let you in on what I think of each of these dancers. Here's how I rank the final 10.
Recap: Meet the 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' Top 10
by Sarah Kelsey, posted Oct 1st 2010 9:50AM

Finally, Canada, we've moved onto SYTYCDC's Top 10 dancers. After several nights of moving and grooving, some mediocre moves and even weirder group performances -- we're moving onto the best of the best (or at least that's what we're all hoping for).
It's a good sign when we find out that this evening's group performance is choreographed by Mia Michaels. There was chair-jumping, chemistry between all of the dancers, and some incredible steps. It was an exhibition of talent unseen on this show -- at least so far.
