News from Oprah and Martha
by Brad Trechak, posted Jan 26th 2010 1:00PM
We have two pieces of news from the talk show world today. First, Oprah Winfrey's upcoming OWN network now has a tagline. The tagline is "it's your life ... own it". This tagline is probably better than the proposed one "I have more money than all of you combined and will use it to conquer the world ... MWA HA HA".In other news, Martha Stewart is following in the steps of Oprah and leaving daytime syndication for a cable deal. Her new show is slated to run on the Hallmark Channel and the network will also run Martha-owned programming after her own show. This can be taken as a sign of the diminishing power of network television as well as the increasing power of Martha Stewart.
The question we must really ask is: if Martha and Oprah combined into one entity that consumed all of daytime television, what would that entity be called? Marah? Optha? The All-Consuming Beast?
What should Bravo's new slogan be?
by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 2nd 2009 4:27PM
Breaking News: Bravo is changing their slogan. For the past several years the tag line has been "Watch What Happens," but the network is giving an overhaul to its brand and now the new slogan will be "By Bravo." That's going to take some getting used to, if you're the type of person who watches Bravo and has to get used to things. Here are some other slogan ideas Bravo could have used.
| Bravo: Sometimes We Don't Have Reality Shows On (Really!) | |

| This Isn't Your Father's Gay Network | |
| Watch What Happens On Project Runway (Over On Lifetime) | |

Fast Food Nation "steals" line from The Simpsons
by Adam Finley, posted Nov 14th 2006 8:01PM
So I was sitting in my recliner a moment ago, flipping through the channels, smoking my Meerschaum pipe and playing cribbage with the men from my hunting club when a commercial came on for Richard Linklater's new movie Fast Food Nation, based on the excellent book by journalist Eric Schlosser. At the end of the commercial, the tagline for the movie flashed across the screen: "Do You Want Lies With That?"
"Holy God!" I yelled, leaping to my feet and knocking over my musket.
What happened to Ryan Seacrest's tagline?
by Anna Johns, posted Mar 13th 2006 10:26AM
I know I'm not the first person to wonder this. And, I'm definitely not complaining.
I really hated the "Seacrest, Out" that American Idol host Ryan Seacrest insisted on saying at the
end of every show last season. It made the show about him and not about the contestants. And, it's not Ryan Seacrest's
show. Maybe he was mocked
one too many times.So... any theories on why he stopped saying it? Do you miss it?
