'Dancing with the Stars' - 'Performance #3' Recap

by Michael Pascua, posted Apr 13th 2010 1:34AM
Jake trips on Dancing with the Stars(S10E06) The format of 'Dancing with the Stars' continues to borrow from other reality shows by creating different themes each week. This week the contestants will be scored by both technique and performance. The scores are still out of a 30. For the rumba and the tango, the judges will be looking for three specific dance moves.

As the couples walk down the stairs, Maks tries to signal someone by tugging his ear and almost trips down the stairs. Kate continues to tell her children that she loves them via bad hand signs.

I had a problem with Brooke tonight. Not only did the crossing ribbons on her midsection make her look fat, was she pronouncing celebrity names incorrectly? Luckily, the filler this week were very interesting demos from professionals that didn't make the cut this season.

Recap: Dancing with the Stars - Performance #7

by Michael Pascua, posted Nov 3rd 2009 2:22AM
Mya and Dmitry end their performance with a silhouette.(S09E14) It's week seven of Dancing with the Stars, and the pressure is on. Lacey Schwimmer was the victim of a cold; Anna Trebunskya has stepped in to help Mark Dacascos. The other victims tonight were the professionals who were forced to wear costumes designed by the celebrities. While it worked for Kelly, it backfired on Joanna.

You know that there will be longer commercials between performances when you get a professional opening sequence. Five professionals and one woman who wasn't named performed a tango and paso doble. The dance was supposed to be an example of teamwork, but the paso and tango was also not as synchronized as I expected.

Dancing with the Stars: Week 3

Willa Ford(S03E05) Now that two teams have been cut, we're moving to a 90 minute show. It makes for a jam packed evening of dancing. Not much time left to dawdle. Of course, I'm sure there will be plenty of time to get the dawdling in on the results show. Anyway, this week we have the tango and the jive. I was under the impression that the male stars were doing the tango, and the females the jive. But that all went out the window at the end of the show and I'm still not quite sure why. Did I miss some announcement? Set me straight in the comments if I did. For now, on with the show.

Dancing with the Stars: Week 2 Results show

Tucker CarlsonAnother extended results show, but you can't argue with results. Am I the only one that is wondering why the stars and dancers all wear the same outfits for the results show that they wore on performance night? Not a big deal, just one of those things that makes you go hmmmmm... (mystery dancer hint)

Joey and Edyta get the encore this week, and it's well deserved. Then the pros all come out to dance to Rebel Yell. I gotta say, if you have to fill 55 minutes of your hour, this is a good way to do it. They are very impressive when they get to do their thing.
