by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 17th 2011 3:45PM
Tatyana Ali became famous as Ashley on 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,' but Lil' Ash is all grown up now, and Tatyana is starring on 'Love That Girl.' Ali stopped by 'Good Day NY' (weekdays, 7AM ET on Fox) to talk about her character Tyana and an upcoming cameo from Jaleel White."We have great guest stars this season. [Jaleel White] and I worked together on 'Fresh Prince' and haven't worked together since ... so that was so much fun," she said of White's guest-spot.

by Chris Jancelewicz, posted Jan 10th 2011 2:00PM
Tatyana Ali, who most of us know as Ashley from 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,' has certainly grown up. Now 31, the actress is helming her own show, 'Love That Girl,' which premieres tonight on TV One.Charming and quick to laughter, Ali is over the moon about her new show and her return to comedy. With a recurring role on 'The Young and the Restless,' Ali hasn't been away from the small screen completely, but she's thrilled to return from whence she came -- that is, the land of the sitcom.
TV Squad spoke with Ali in LA about 'Love That Girl,' how she avoided being a child star tragedy, and what she thinks about Willow Smith.
10 Former TV Child Stars Who Aren't Crackheads
by Patricia Chui, posted Sep 3rd 2009 3:45PM
'Extract,' the new Mike Judge comedy opening in theaters this weekend, stars Jason Bateman as a bored factory manager. Those of us who grew up on '80s TV are thrilled that former child star Bateman's become such a success as an adult -- especially since we still think of him as Ricky Schroder's rambunctious best friend on 'Silver Spoons.' (Did anyone else watch 'It's Your Move' religiously? Just us?)It's quite a feat for Bateman to have come this far, as the list of former child stars is littered with tales of drug abuse, DUIs, anorexia, obscurity and death. And then there are those who pop up in the news for doing random things, such as Soleil Moon Frye resurrecting Punky Brewster to celebrate her massive Twitter following.
But why dwell on the negative and the bizarre? Here's a list of 10 formerly famous tykes who bucked the odds and emerged from childhood TV stardom -- often after long periods in which they took time off or struggled to find work -- and became famous adults in their own right. We couldn't be more proud.
