by Anna Johns, posted Nov 2nd 2006 8:42PM
comedy central logoComedy Central is building up a cast of relatively unknown actors to star in a new series making fun of teen soap operas, also known as "guilty pleasures". The series is called Not Another High School Show and it will spoof popular teen soaps such as Dawson's Creek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The O.C.

Six newcomers have nabbed lead roles in the series, which begins filming this Saturday in Los Angeles. The actors are Rachel Specter, Brendan Miller, Anna Osceola, John Keefe, Jeffrey Christopher Todd and Jocelin Donahue. All of the actors are credited with small parts in movies or guest starring roles in television series such as Entourage and CSI: Miami.

Hot chick dons fat suit for Lifetime movie

by Adam Finley, posted Oct 25th 2006 4:03PM

kaley CuocoKaley Cuoco of 8 Simple Rules will be climbing into a fat suit for an original Lifetime movie called Fat Like Me, based on real-life teen Ali Schmidt, a thin, pretty New Yorker who did the same thing for an undercover network news special on obesity that aired in 2003. Now, I obviously haven't seen this new movie, since it doesn't hit Lifetime until January, nor did I see the original news special it was based upon. I can assume, though, that this pretty girl will realize how difficult life can be for someone who is overweight, and she'll walk away from the experience with a more mature outlook on the world and blah blah blah.

gail ogrady kevin williamsSaucy Gail O'Grady landed a leading role in Kevin Williamson's new project. Williamson, of course, was the creator of Dawson's Creek. This one is about a troubled teen who moves with his family to a gated community in Palm Springs, CA. O'Grady will play his (gorgeous) mom. It sounds like Dawson's Creek meets The O.C., doesn't it?
