Eureka could have been animated
by Michael Canfield, posted Aug 9th 2006 10:34AM
In a big "huh --?" moment for me, it turns out the Sci Fi Channel summer series Eureka -- about a town of geniuses planted in the Pacific Northwest by the government for dramatic effect -- was originally conceived as an animated series. That's according to what series star Colin Ferguson told SCI FI's own newswire, anyway. Obviously, he and other cast members are relieved the producers didn't stick with that concept.I can't picture it. Maybe the focus would have been on the genius-town kids getting into all kinds of scrapes and 'splodin' things. Or maybe it would have been American cable's first one hour dramatic primetime animated series. Probably something closer to the former.
