'The Bachelorette': Top 5 Things More Intriguing Than This Week's Episode

by Lincee Ray, posted Jul 19th 2011 1:45AM
The BacheloretteHow boring was this week's episode of 'The Bachelorette'? Come on! It's the hometown dates for crying out loud! Where are the stuffed squirrels in the basement? Why didn't anyone want to bury a dead bird in the back yard? How could there NOT be a father toting some sort of firearm in his man cave?

These families were warm, loving and even ... normal. Ashley's wardrobe was the most dysfunctional part of the entire show, and that wasn't even all that bad if you're not counting the rose ceremony dress.

Needless to say, I knew coming up with an entire recap -- let alone my weekly Top 5 list for AOL TV -- was going to a challenge. So I decided to take a bold approach:

'The Bachelorette': Ashley Meets the Guys' Families, Sends One Home (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 19th 2011 12:51AM
Ashley Hebert, 'The Bachelorette'Ashley Hebert took a whirlwind tour to four different families on 'The Bachelorette' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC). It was the home visits week, which meant the four remaining bachelors would have to deal with all the skeletons of their families being laid bare before Ashley.

Actually, it was a pretty skeleton-free affair, meaning Ashley didn't learn any horrible secrets, or experience any crazy situations to help her make that agonizing decision to send one of those guys right back to the family she was just cozying and smiling with.

Emily Maynard is Not the Next 'Bachelorette' (Yet)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jul 13th 2011 7:25AM
Emily MaynardIt seems as though the rumors of Emily Maynard's continuing reality TV stardom may have been premature. 'The Bachelor(ette)' host Chris Harrison has shot down reports that the newly single Maynard is in the running to be the next 'Bachelorette.'

Harrison told 'Access Hollywood' that "Rumors of Emily being the 'Bachelorette' are greatly exaggerated. It is way too early, way too presumptuous of anybody to say she's 'The Bachelorette'."

He added that, "As far as TV goes, we don't go into production on 'The Bachelorette' for six more months. We would never pigeonhole ourselves ... this early."

'The Bachelorette' Season 7, Episode 7 Recap

by Laura Prudom, posted Jul 12th 2011 5:00AM
Ashley['The Bachelorette' - Week 7]

Welcome back, eternal optimists and cynics alike -- time for another unpredictable night with 'The Bachelorette.'

As the show progresses, it seems like Ashley and the fellas are starting to unravel at a faster rate; there were tears aplenty this week, and not just from our lovelorn lady.

It's becoming apparent that some relationships are burning more slowly than others, and in this week's episode, Ashley seemed to be getting jittery that perhaps her Bentley break-up prophecy would come true, and she might end up pulling a Brad and wind up alone after the final rose.

Ashley's gameplay has been a little skewed, though, since she seems to have made a habit of placing too much value on the guys she hasn't even had a one-on-one date with yet.

Emily Maynard Confirms Brad Womack Split, But She's Still in Love With Him (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 12th 2011 1:03AM
Emily Maynard, 'The Bachelorette'Emily Maynard came back to the mansion where she met Brad Womack on 'The Bachelor' to talk about and confirm their break-up. The interview aired as part of 'The Bachelorette' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC) and saw Maynard adamant in her support of Womack.

"I'll always be in love with Brad," she told Chris Harrison. "No one will ever hear me say a bad word about him, nor will I tolerate anybody else saying anything bad about him."

So be careful what you say in the comments, as Maynard may be reading and she will not tolerate any Brad-bashing!

'The Bachelorette': Top 5 How Many ABC Interns Does It Take? Moments

by Lincee Ray, posted Jul 12th 2011 12:40AM
After a week off to celebrate 4th of July festivities here in America, I thought that this return episode of 'The Bachelorette' would be a little more entertaining, especially since Ashley is choosing which suitors will escort her on their home turf.

The Bachelorette

Unfortunately, there was a lot of behind the scenes preparation that resulted in some pretty lackluster coverage if you ask me. And that is where I, Lincee Ray, got this week's inspiration:

Emily Maynard: Is She the Next 'Bachelorette'?

by PopEater Staff, posted Jul 6th 2011 8:00PM
Emily MaynardAlthough Emily Maynard won over Brad Womack on 'The Bachelor,' the love didn't seem to last for the couple. Now, the newly single Maynard is rumored to be in the running to star in the next season of 'The Bachelorette.'

Maynard won the last season of the ABC matchmaking show, but she and Womack just weren't meant to be. The happy couple apparently wasn't so happy -- they seemed on the rocks ever since the finale aired -- and recently announced they have broken off their engagement.

Now that Maynard's single, she's hoping to snag the coveted title of 'Bachelorette' for the series' next go-around, according to Us Weekly.

"She hasn't officially signed on yet, but it looks like a done deal," a source revealed, adding Maynard hopes to use the spotlight afforded by the show to help boost her broadcast journalism career. "She wants to be famous."

How Much Did 'Bachelorette' Ashley Hebert Make This Season?

by PopEater Staff, posted Jul 2nd 2011 9:00AM
Ashley HebertThough most reality shows don't take home amazing salaries, there are always exceptions (we're looking at you, 'Jersey Shore' kids).

With the latest season of 'The Bachelorette' starting to wind down, we were wondering: how much cash did desperate-for-love Ashley Hebert bring in thanks to the reality show?

Way less than you might think.

According to Us Weekly, the former 'Bachelor' cast-off only made $30,000 for her two months filming the matchmaking show. And while her paycheck is hardly chump change, it's quite measly compared the Bachelors and Bachelorettes than came before her.

'The Bachelorette': Top 5 Shut Up Moments From Last Night

by Lincee Ray, posted Jun 28th 2011 1:30AM
Last night's episode of 'The Bachelorette' was one of the more entertaining we've viewed in a while.

There was dragon boat racing, Hong Kong sight seeing and a moment in which I thought the vein in Our Host Chris Harrison's forehead was going to pop when he had to deal with the Ashley and Bentley drama.

'The Bachelorette' Goes Hong Kong

Fortunately, the night also held some unexpected twists. So it is without further ado, that I, Lincee Ray, give you:

Bentley's Back, But is Ashley Still Swooning for Him on 'The Bachelorette'? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 28th 2011 1:10AM
Bentley, 'The Bachelorette'Ashley and the remaining boys are halfway around the world in Hong Kong on 'The Bachelorette' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC), but apparently that still isn't far enough to get away from Bentley.

Quite possibly the biggest d-bag to ever participate in a reality show must have decided he needed some more screen time if he was willing to fly to Hong Kong just to mess with Ashley some more.

He slipped right into his slimy, flirty persona and she was melting right into it for a while, but finally the truth started to come out and apparently Bentley let her off the hook. Only then did Ashley finally see him for what he is. Either that, or she's just hurt and angry and lashing out.

'The Bachelorette': Top 5 Reasons This Show Makes Us Want a Concussion

by Lincee Ray, posted Jun 21st 2011 1:30AM
This just in: Ashley is trying to make the 'Flashdance' off-the-shoulder tops from the '80s the fashion signature of her season. Oh, and she can't stop thinking about Bentley.

Even boxing, 'The Bachelorette' is a bore

Other than that, there's really not much to report from this week's episode of 'The Bachelorette.' Or this whole season of 'The Bachelorette'! The guys are boring, Ashley's boring, it's all just boring us to tears.

But I am a professional. I will not let a blah episode keep me, Lincee Ray, from contributing a Top 5 list to AOL TV. So, it is with great pleasure that I give you:

Ames Takes a Hard Hit to the Head Kickboxing on 'The Bachelorette' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 21st 2011 12:05AM
Ames and Ashley Hebert, 'The Bachelorette'There's an expression about taking one for the team, but Ames took one for the heart on 'The Bachelorette' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC). Someone -- we're looking at you, producers! -- decided that a great date for Ashley and the boys would be to have the guys pair off and fight one another.

Since they're in Thailand, Muay Thai kickboxing was the fighting style and the men were given some training, but still it made for some uncomfortable moments for Ashley, as the spectator.

Maybe she's not the kind of girl who likes to watch two guys fighting for her affection ... well, literally fighting. She obviously doesn't mind the concept of guys competing, or else she wouldn't be on this show.

Larry King Relegated to 'Access Hollywood Live' Reaction Shot Duty (VIDEO)

Larry King on 'Access Hollywood Live'Larry King has been in radio and television for more than 50 years, 25 of them on CNN hosting 'Larry King Live.' To many, he is an icon. To 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), he's the guy you cut away to during a clip of 'The Bachelorette' to see what his reaction might be. That was where King's career found itself Tuesday on 'Access,' a situation which he playfully poked fun at.

"I got up for this?" joked King. "What is this? My career has come to this. I'm a cutaway."

'The Bachelorette': Top 5 Ways To Be Inappropriate In A Foreign Country

The BacheloretteCan you believe that Ashley isn't over Bentley? And that she travels all the way to Thailand for exotic dates and can't do anything but talk about how she misses Bentley? And then she has a perfectly normal date with Ames (who else was surprised?) and compares him to Bentley?

And about 20 minutes in when Ashley has mentioned Bentley approximately 15 times, did you begin counting the Bentley's in the remaining minutes of the show?

Welcome to this season of the 'Bachelorette': Insecure Ashley And Her Love For All Things Bentley!

AOL TV has generously asked me, Lincee Ray, back to share an original top five list from various moments of the night. It is without further ado that I present to you ... the Top 5 Ways To Be Inappropriate In A Foreign Country!

'The Bachelorette' Season 7, Episode 4 Recap

by Laura Prudom, posted Jun 14th 2011 4:15AM
Ashley and her suitors['The Bachelorette' - 'Season 7, Episode 4']

If I hear the name "Bentley" one more time ...

As this week's 'Bachelorette' began, I cheerily hypothesized that taking a shot every time Ashley mentioned the B. word would result in a much more enjoyable viewing experience, but a quarter of the way through the show, I realized that the entire audience would be dead of alcohol poisoning by 10PM if they attempted it.

To be fair, that still might have been preferable to watching Ashley lament the premature exit of her One True Love all week long, but it probably wouldn't have made a good impression on ABC's advertisers.

Still, as infuriatingly oblivious as Ashley was this week, it's easy to forget that she wasn't privy to the dastardly side of Bentley we've seen from the start, since I'm fairly sure she wouldn't have been making gooey eyes up at the sky and taking pensive boat rides in Phuket if she'd heard him whining about how annoying it was that she wouldn't stop crying while he was trying to dump her.
