'Real Housewives of NYC': Ramona Dons Red Wig, Mocks Jill on Her Birthday (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 24th 2011 4:39AM
Ramona, 'The Real Housewives of New York City'Jill Zarin had a memorable birthday on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' (Thu., 10PM ET on Bravo), even if she wasn't particularly enthused about every aspect of it. In particular, she didn't seem thrilled when Ramona went into an impromptu impression of her.

Ramona got her hands on a wig and asked if she looked like Jill. Then she started demanding bigger diamonds as if she were Jill.

"Seriously Ramona?" Jill said later. "Come on."

But before she could get too upset about it, LuAnn came down the stairs with this crazy headress on and started serenading her. Awkwardly, Ramona said that at first she thought LuAnn was a big drag queen. But it was a nice capper on the evening for Jill, who even shared a quick dance with LuAnn.

'The Real Housewives of New York City': LuAnn and Alex Butt Heads (VIDEO)

'The Real Housewives of New York City' S04/E11The Moroccan vacation is over and it's time for 'The Real Housewives of New York City' (Thu., 10PM ET on BRAVO) to return to normal life.

If life for these ladies can ever be called "normal," that is ... This week LuAnn and Alex got into a fight in a restaurant about whether Alex was butting into LuAnn's affairs. Actually, it was more of a tense verbal sparring bout -- these two are far too socially conscious to start yelling or hair pulling in front of the hoi polloi.

The countess said she'd anticipated "a pleasant meeting where we could have a nice little cappuccino," to which an incredulous Alex replied, "That shows your own delusion." Touché!

Apparently, Alex had wrecked LuAnn's "lovely moment" with the ladies at home in Morocco by stomping in wearing her "Herman Munster shoes" and just simply ruining the mood. Listen dear, don't diss the shoes: "They're Louis Vuitton!" Gasp.

To which LuAnn counters: "Well, even Louis Vuitton makes mistakes." Me-ow.

Kevin Bacon & Bethenny Frankel, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'Thanks to the sale of her Skinny Girl Magarita brand, Bethenny Frankel went from being broke to being on the 'Forbes' 100 richest celebrities list. On 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), she described the whole situation as crazy and surreal.

"I just am wiping my behind with dollar bills now," Frankel said of the $100 million deal. "It's just a little abrasive and I'm getting used to it."

She then turned to Kevin Bacon and asked if he wanted to come work for her. "Just hang out with me. Entertain me."

"I'm always lookin for a gig," he replied gamely.

Ramona and Jill Simply Can't Get Along on 'The Real Housewives of NYC' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 3rd 2011 4:47AM
Ramona, 'The Real Housewives of New York City'There's clearly still some serious tension between Jill and Ramona on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' (Thu., 10PM ET on Bravo), stemming from way back when Bethenny Frankel was still a part of this show.

So they took a break from enjoying their trip to Morocco to hash things out, which equated to Jill screaming hysterically and Ramona sitting stoically on her bed giving Jill the smuggest smile of arrogance and satisfaction she could possibly muster.

"What happened to my friend Ramona? You used to be such a nice girl," Jill said.

Ramona, still giving that demonic grin, said, "I am nice."

The idea of sending 'The Real Housewives of New York City' to Morocco must have seemed like a perfect kind of 'Sex & the City' adventure for Jill, Ramona, Alex, Kelly, Luann, Sonja and Cindy.

Unfortunately, these ladies didn't have Michael Patrick King writing the script. In fact, the material wasn't even up to Hope and Crosby's 'The Road to Morocco.' They needed help.

Why on earth did Luann take responsibility for this Arabian adventure? It's a thankless task, trying to please these women.

The Girls Get Charmed by Snakes in Morocco on 'Real Housewives of NYC' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 27th 2011 1:38AM
Jill Zarin, 'The Real Housewives of New York City'At a party in Morocco, the women of 'The Real Housewives of New York City' (Thu., 10PM ET on Bravo) were treated to a snake charming demonstration. The charmer performed all kinds of neat tricks with the snakes, including sticking his tongue inside the mouth of one.

It was all a bit too disturbing for most of the housewives; Ramona even put out a call for more wine. But this was just from watching the charmer handling the snakes. It was a whole different ball game when they were asked to handle the reptiles themselves.

Only Jill was completely comfortable with the animals, agreeing to let one be put on her head like a hat and cooing to them. "How could I be afraid of snakes when I have snakeskin shoes?" she rationalized. At least she was having fun and enjoying the entirety of the experience being presented to them.

This week on 'The Real Housewives of New York City,' Sonja and LuAnn came up with an idea for a ladies-only trip, and the Countess proposed Morocco. LuAnn pulled out all her expertise as a tourist. Everyone would be in, even Kelly. Jill was game, Ramona was concerned, but said she'd go along. Cindy and Alex were ready to fly. Of course, the problem was going to be Kelly. Would she go or not? Time would tell.

FYI the Morocco trip is going to be 'The LuAnn Show' in case you haven't figured that out yet. She was taking it all very seriously, and she started her campaign for civility among the girls with a luncheon lecture for Ramona.

'The Real Housewives of New York City'Alex found herself in the middle of a very awkward moment on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' (Thu., 10PM ET on Bravo). The problem seems to be that these women address negative situations in even worse ways.

LuAnn decided she needed to deal with Ramona being annoying and inappropriate and causing people to not want to go on a planned trip. But rather than talk to her, she decided to pick a fight with her and dress her down.

Now we agree that Ramona should not be trying to dictate what kinds of clothes LuAnn is allowed to wear, but LuAnn was clearly ill-equipped to deal with the very blunt Ramona.

Bravo to Recast 'The Real Housewives of New York City'?

The Real Housewives of New York CityCould we have seen the last of Turtle Time?

Yep, Ramona Singer and her fellow socialites could be gone from 'The Real Housewives of New York City' next season, reports the New York Post.

According to the paper, Bravo is looking to completely rehaul the 'New York' cast by hiring an all-new group of women for the next season. That means Jill Zarin, pantsless Sonja Morgan and the rest of the ladies could be gone from the show completely.

"They want an entirely new cast to replicate Beverly Hills," a source told the Post. "They want rich, rich women, like Adrienne Maloof and Camille Grammer, dripping in glamour and $10 million penthouses. And they don't want to fake it. They are discreetly reaching out to women who fit the bill."

Sonja Forgets the Bottom Half of Her Costume on 'Real Housewives of NYC' (VIDEO)

'The Real Housewives of New York City'When you're hosting a dinner party, it's important that you stand out so people remember you. If it's a masquerade ball, it's even more crucial that people can find you and know which costume you're wearing. Sonja made it abundantly clear who she was on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' (Thu., 10PM ET on Bravo) every time she bent over.

Apparently, she was wearing an incomplete costume and she made sure everyone knew it. "I'm missing half my costume! There's something that goes with this," she said at one point.

To another group of people, it was, "I forgot my costume! There's a petticoat that goes down here."

So things are beginning to come into focus as the season progresses on 'The Real Housewives of New York City.' Jill has it out for Ramona. And Ramona has it out for Jill. Last year it was Bethenny vs. Jill; this year Jill's taking on Ramona.

The highpoint, or low depending on your take, was Ramona's pinot grigio party. Were you as confused as I was when the waiter with the pizza appetizer kept trying to cut in on Jill and Ramona?

Wendy Williams Tells Ramona Singer: 'Get Over It' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted May 10th 2011 6:45PM
'The Wendy Williams Show'On Tuesday's 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated), Williams stepped into a feud between two of the women from the 'The Real Housewives of New York City.'

On TVSquad.com's sister site, PopEater.com, Ramona Singer said she didn't think Bethenny Frankel actually sold her Skinnygirl Margarita business for the reported price of $120 million. Singer has her own alcohol business, the Ramona Pinot Grigio line of wines.

Singer said she thought Frankel might have made $30 million, split between partners. "I don't care if that is an inflated thing," Williams said on her show, "if you cut that in half and cut it in half again, that's still 20 million dollars that she didn't have when she started as a housewife."

Williams reminded Frankel, who was not on the show, that she is rich and has a husband and a baby, and advised Singer to "Get over it." What might help is a lot of wine.

Sonja Schools Cindy in Society and Friendship on 'Real Housewives of NYC' (VIDEO)

Cindy Barshop, 'The Real Housewives of New York City'Sonja was in rare form this week on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' (Thu., 10PM ET on Bravo). First, her "motherly instincts" kicked in and had her facilitate a meeting between Ramona and Kelly, to ease the tension there.

Then, because Cindy nearly sabotaged this plan, she decided to have her over for tea.

"This tea is not to embarrass Cindy in any way," she said. "I have years of experience in the world of society."

So she decided to "help" Cindy by berating her about telling Kelly that Ramona would be there. Of course Cindy denied it, so the producers helpfully showed us the clip where she did.

Hooray, hooray, Jill Zarin was back. How funny that she thought she'd be home and avoid the drama and gossip and feuds inherent in 'Real Housewives' land! She was up to her neck in backstabbing before the dishes for her welcome home lunch were cleared away. Luann couldn't wait to spread the dirt about Ramona and Cindy and the weirdness in Quogue.

In this episode, we discovered that Sonja has some secret talents. She does impressions. Her Ramona was so spot on; you have to wonder if she can do Jill and Kelly, too? Sonja was also quite the diplomat arranging the sit-down between Ramona and Kelly. It was a veritable peace conference, with everyone playing nice.
