Another 'Bachelor' Breakup as Emily Maynard Hands Back the Ring

by PopEater Staff, posted May 24th 2011 7:55AM
Rumors have been circulating for a while now that all was not well between 'Bachelor' stars Emily Maynard and Brad Womack. Now we hear that Maynard's returned her engagement ring.

Us Weekly reports that Maynard was spotted running errands in Charlotte, N.C., without the rock Womack presented to her on 'The Bachelor' finale, with an insider confirming that she has returned it to ABC.

Sources claim that the couple's long-distance relationship was just too hard to continue, with a source telling 'Us,' "It's completely over now."

Maynard is reported to have initiated the breakup, which happened about two weeks ago after she visited Womack's home in Austin, Texas, in a last-ditch attempt to save their relationship.

Michelle Money Breaks Down in Tears From the Other Girls' Attacks on 'The Bachelor' (VIDEO)

Chris Hansen & Michelle Money, 'The Bachelor'Michelle Money polarized fans of 'The Bachelor' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC) when she was still on the show, and on 'The Women Tell All,' she had the other rejected women from this season still up in arms about her behavior in the house.

Of course, Michelle says she's misunderstood and is just the victim of bad editing.

But there was no editing of any kind when Michelle finally cracked under the barrage of verbal abuse coming from the women when Chris Harrison was trying to ask her questions. Stacey Queripel seemed to take particular delight in calling Michelle's parenting skills into question.

"I don't know how you were brought up, but in my family, it kind of goes something like this," she said. "You put your child first and, I'm sorry but I felt like you put you first."

'The Bachelor' Season 15, Episode 7 Recap

Brad Womack['The Bachelor' - 'Season 15, Episode 7']

We know that some of you are under the impression that Brad Womack is kind of boring, but this week's 'Bachelor' is here to set you straight: Brad Womack is a REBEL without a clue.

Our studly hero is here to remind America that he's not the same pensive, cereal-eating, shirtless jogger with no personality that we once knew and loathed. He is, in fact, a rule-breaker, a risk-taker, a muscled amalgamation of Bruce Willis, Jack Bauer and Martin Riggs who doesn't need no stinkin' reality show producers telling him how to hand out roses and when to hold cocktail parties.

Or, he just doesn't like the awkwardness of keeping girls he doesn't want to make out with past their expiration date. One of the two.

Tops Come Off at a 'Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition' Photo Shoot Group Date on 'The Bachelor' (VIDEO)

Brad Womack & Michelle Maloney, 'The Bachelor' Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photo shootBrad Womack summed it up quite succinctly when he said, "It's almost like I'm watching the girls become very competitive," at this week's group date on 'The Bachelor' (Mon, 8PM ET on ABC).

We're not sure what they expected to happen by having the date be themed around a 'Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition' photo shoot. Does no one realize what happens when those models pose for the magazine? Half the time, tops come off.

In this case, two of the three girls lost their tops, which left Michelle scrambling to find a different way to show them up in front of Brad and make sure she left a lasting impression. After all, they'd each left two very strong impressions.

'The Bachelor' Season 15, Episode 6 Recap

Brad Womack['The Bachelor' - 'Season 15, Episode 6']

This week on 'Fear Factor' ... Oops, wrong competition. Or is it?

We expect houses on reality shows to be bugged as par for the course, but after Alli's hysterical (in both senses of the word) reactions to the two insects that laid siege to the house this week, I'm half convinced that 'The Bachelor' producers have a box of creepy crawlers to release whenever there's a lull in activity in the house.

The phobias were out in full force again this week, as Jackie was confronted with her "deathly" fear of heights, and Alli came face-to-face with both spiders and bats on her awkward one-on-one with Brad. There has to be a snake phobia that 'The Bachelor' can exploit in someone next week, right?

'The Bachelor' Season 15, Episode 5 Recap

Brad Womack['The Bachelor' - 'Season 15, Episode 5']

The producers of 'The Bachelor' are truly outdoing themselves this year, continuing their run of the most sadistic dates imaginable. At the start of the show, the dates were just cruel to us (no more singing, Brad, we beg you!) but over the past couple of weeks, we've had Chantal facing her aversion to deep water, Michelle's (possibly fake) fear of heights and, this week, Emily's heartbreaking trauma relating to NASCAR. I thought we were watching a dating show, not 'Fear Factor'.

If all of next year's contestants confessed to a fear of spiders, I'm wondering if the show would concoct a group date wherein they have to crawl through a pit of tarantulas in search of ballgowns and diamond jewelery. I can't deny that it would make for entertaining television, but the date choices have all seemed very convenient this season, especially following Chris Harrison's confirmation to People last week that the producers definitely have a hand in picking the dates.
