Brian blogs 'bout Britney and bodies

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 21st 2007 1:36PM

Brian WilliamsWell, that's not entirely true. This post by NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams is more about Fat Tuesday and New Orleans, but those two phrases just didn't fit into the whole letter "B" thing I had going.

But he does mention Britney Spears and the court hearings about Anna Nicole Smith's body and her baby:

"Viewer warning: there will be no mention of Britney Spears' baldness or rehab in tonight's broadcast, nor will there be any mention of Anna Nicole's "body possession" hearing."

Ha. That's great to hear, though I wonder if he can promise that for every broadcast. I'm sure when the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby is finally revealed and/or there is a funeral for Smith, it will be mentioned. (Plus you can get tons of coverage over on MSNBC.)

But "The Daily Nightly" is a good TV news blog, with posts by not only Williams but other NBC reporters as well.

Brian Williams and NBC start video blog

by Joel Keller, posted Jul 19th 2006 2:01PM
Brian WilliamsFirst, Brian Williams became a blogger, and everyone listened. Now, the NBC Nightly News anchor has been recruited to be a vlogger, which he seems to relish. Starting yesterday, NBC is putting a video blog called "The Early Nightly" on the Nightly News' website. In the first edition of the video blog, Williams takes viewers on a tour of NBC's Tel Aviv bureau and shows viewers the protective gear he and other correspondents bring with them when they go on remote shoots, including his flack jacket breastplate.

The video blog is supposed to go up every morning, after the 9:30 ET editorial conference call, according to this TV Week article. The "Daily Nightly" text blog will still be around, since it covers what was discussed during the afternoon conference call. I will say, both give you an interesting look behind the scenes, but if Williams wanted more camera time, he could just go on Conan more often. He's pretty funny on that show.
