['The Good Wife' - 'What Went Wrong']Alternate episode title: How Alicia learned to deal with life sans sex. Subtitle: Facebook ruins more lives!
After a seemingly slamdunk case ends in a guilty verdict, the Lockhart/Gardner team goes into overdrive to find out what happened in the jury room.
Following several trips to the button lady, an arrest, a wonderful scene between Alicia and Kalinda (more on that below) and multiple visits to the judge, our hero defense attorney saved the day. How? Because the judge friended a jury. Darn that
'The Good Wife' loves its social media and technology stories.
And now the meat of the episode ...
'The Good Wife' Season 3, Episode 8 Recap

['The Good Wife' - 'Death Row Tip']Some of the best episodes of 'The Good Wife' have been when Lockhart/Gardner is racing against the clock to achieve a goal, think 'Nine Hours,' a standout of Season 2. However, that wasn't the case with 'Death Row Tip.'
Alicia and Justin (Romany Malco) rushed to get a stay of execution for a man guilty of some vicious crimes. He had info, the name of a man who committed murders one of their clients was accused of, but that came at a price.

['The Good Wife' - 'Executive Order 13224']Dear Carrie Preston:
Thank you. Thank you for returning to 'The Good Wife' and making me laugh harder than I ever have during an episode of this fantastic drama. Please return soon.
This recap could easily turn into a love letter to Preston, but I'll try and keep that to a minimum. Her character, Elsbeth Tascioni, returned to help Alicia out of a potential prison sentence and in doing so became the most entertaining guest star this show has seen in a long while, maybe ever.

['The Good Wife' - 'Marthas and Caitlins']Donna Brazile is worried about Alicia Florrick? Aren't we all, Donna, aren't we all.
The real-life political strategist guest starred as herself on 'The Good Wife' to let Eli Gold know he's got the bring the Florricks back together if Peter wants more of a political career. Plus, Dylan Baker returned and was awesome, the cast got even bigger with the addition of Anna Camp and I finally understand why people are obsessed with Lisa Edelstein.

['The Good Wife' - 'Feeding the Rat']I'm waiting to be wowed.
Yes, Season 3 is just beginning to set things up, but after such a thrilling Season 2, it's very easy to let impatience take over.
Starting the episode with the crime and having viewers see the accused was innocent was a nice twist. One person "saw" the crime and said the real witness did it? Yeah, OK. Can you get more blatantly obvious? If there's one thing 'The Good Wife' audience has proven time and time again it's that they're smart. To me, this was a sloppy story. It brought the entire episode down.

['The Good Wife' - 'Get a Room']Ladies and gentlemen, it's the moment you've been waiting for: Lisa Edelstein is in 'The Good Wife' house. Pun intended!
After last week's sluggish and rather boring episode, 'The Good Wife' was firing on all cylinders once again, but with maybe a tad too much going on. I appreciated that it wasn't the Lisa Edelstein show, but again I was more interested in the side case featuring Eli and Diane. Buddy sitcom starring the two of them? Sign me up!
And let's not forget the return of Dallas Roberts as Owen, Alicia's lovable brother who makes every single scene that much better. He's the best thing to happen to 'The Good Wife.'
'The Good Wife' Season 3, Episode 2 Recap
by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 3rd 2011 12:15AM
['The Good Wife' - 'The Death Zone']Not sure if I had too high expectations because Eddie Izzard was guest starring or the fact the lawyers were navigating foreign legal waters, but whatever it was, I was let down. This was not the most engaging or entertaining episode of the 'The Good Wife.'
With Alicia starting out saying "Nothing personal, but I have to rip your friend apart," I was expecting to be blown away, especially because the heroes of the story were in a foreign court.
The second episode of Season 2, 'Double Jeopardy,' saw Will and Alicia in military court and it was one of the best of the year. By displaying their weaknesses and savvy legal skills at the same time, it showed what these characters are made of. Did that happen in 'The Death Zone'? Not so much.
'The Good Wife' Season 3 Premiere Recap
by Chris Harnick, posted Sep 26th 2011 12:20AM
['The Good Wife' - 'A New Day']The day has finally come. It's a new season of 'The Good Wife' -- 'A New Day' if you will -- and a brand new Alicia.
Getting this out of the way: I like her hair. It makes total sense that Alicia would change her hair to go along with her liberation. There's been a lot of talk about it since the new promos came out over the summer, but it's here, it's great, let's move on.
We saw Alicia growing last year, getting a bit more edge, sort of sampling her desires. This year? She's incredible. It's the character viewers have wanted her to be. Watching the character growth over the last two years makes her all the more special now. The way Alicia handled the judge and showed no extra attention to Cary during the whole case really drove the point home.
If you were having any doubts what kind of feel 'The Good Wife' would have this season, just take a glimpse at those visually stunning opening credits.

'The Good Wife' Season 3 Gets Another Sultry Poster
by Chris Harnick, posted Aug 11th 2011 4:00PM
One thing CBS has made quite clear about 'The Good Wife' Season 3 is this: There's a new sultry Alicia Florrick in town.Yep, as if the first "Don't let the name fool you." poster wasn't enough, CBS has rolled out another new sexy 'Good Wife' Season 3 poster.
This new ad features Julianna Margulies clad in a black dress, shoes to the side, curled up in a chair and staring directly into the camera. It's a far cry from the Season 1 key art that had the actress standing by her man, touching her wedding ring.
Season 3 will also see a new pairing: Eli and Kalinda. According to TVLine, now that Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) has an office at Lockhart/Gardner, he'll be using Kalinda's (Archie Panjabi) investigator services from time to time.
"What's fun about the show is you get to mix different relationship cocktails," Robert King, 'Good Wife' co-creator and executive producers, said. "And there just seemed to be something right about Archie and Alan and the way that they would be drawn together."

'The Good Wife' Season 3: See the Steamy New Poster
by Chris Harnick, posted Aug 2nd 2011 2:30PM
When 'The Good Wife' returns for a third season, viewers can expect things to be a bit more spicy -- at least that's what CBS's new promo art will have us believe. In the Season 3 poster, Julianna Margulies appears in a black lace top, her hands tousling her always perfect hair. "Don't let the name fool you," the poster reads. Looks like 'The Good Wife' is courting a different audience for its move to Sundays at 9PM.
This fall, the series is going up against football, ABC's soapy 'Desperate Housewives' and Fox's male-skewing 'Family Guy' and 'American Dad.'
With the strong female audience already attached to 'Desperate Housewives' and men divided between football and the animated comedies, it looks like 'The Good Wife' will not be content with sitting on the sidelines, waiting for viewers to find it in its new timeslot.

Will 'The Good Wife' return for a season 3? You bet, according to series star Josh Charles. While he hasn't been given the official word, Charles said the cast will be appearing at CBS's Upfront presentation next week."We're going to the Upfronts next week," Charles told AOL TV. "I'm imagining they're not inviting us to tell us we're not picked up, you know?"
"I never understand this whole machine," he said. "I think last year we knew before, but [for] whatever reason we don't know. I guess nothing's a guarantee, but all indications seem like we'll most certainly be back next year."
