Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas Bicker Like an Old Married Couple (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 12th 2011 2:00AM
Antonion Banderas & Salma Hayek, 'The Graham Norton Show'There is an evident closeness between Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek in interviews. But perhaps they are starting to get on one another's nerves with all the press they've been doing for 'Puss in Boots.' On 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America) the pair were bickering like an old married couple.

It got so bad that fellow guest Jimmy Carr had to interject a few times, finally offering up a solution. Hayek kept teasing Banderas for his claims -- which were true, like training with the Spanish Olympic swordfighting team for his role as Zorro -- and his accent.

Robin Williams Talks Michael Jackson and Propofol, Which He's Taken (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 5th 2011 12:30AM
Robin Williams, 'The Graham Norton Show'Propofol was the powerful drug that was administered to Michael Jackson before his death, and helped lead to the manslaughter charge against his doctor, Conrad Murray. On 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America), Robin Williams talked about the power of the drug and his own experiences with it.

Put quite simply, Williams was on Propofol during heart surgery, giving a pretty clear indication of its strength. "It's a devastatingly powerful drug that has to be administered in a hospital situation, and he was doing it at home," Williams said of Jackson.

He talked about waking up from the surgery, disoriented from the drug. He'd received his surgery in Cleveland, and yet when he was told where he was, his first question was, "Why?"

Johnny Depp Talks About US Customs Pulling Guns on Him for 'Drugs' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 14th 2011 12:30AM
Johnny Depp, 'The Graham Norton Show'On 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America), Johnny Depp said he once told a customs agent that he had piranha and vampire bats in one of his bags. We thought he was cracking a joke for Norton's audience. Then, we thought maybe he was cracking a joke for the customs officials.

It turns out he really did have these things, along with a powdered vitamin supplement that somehow exploded all over the contents of the bag. At this point, Ricky Gervais completely hijacked the interview to get Depp back on point. The actor was talking about the powder, but that clearly wasn't the most interesting part of this story.

Kate Winslet Carried Richard Branson's Mother From a House Fire (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 31st 2011 1:00AM
Kate Winslet, 'The Graham Norton Show'Kate Winslet is a hero, though not to hear her tell it. Apparently, in her reality, everybody runs toward a burning fire and carries people down the stairs and to safety. She was more concerned about her support, or lack thereof, on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America).

Actually, in the moment when a fire broke out at Richard Branson's house, she decided she wasn't concerned at all.

"I started to put on a bra, then I thought, No that's gonna take me too long," she revealed. This was, apparently, a detail the press did not feel their readers needed to know in their reports of the dramatic incident, so Winslet filled us in.

Cameron Diaz Talks About 'Least Sexiest Sex Scene' With Justin Timberlake (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 27th 2011 2:58AM
Cameron Diaz, 'The Graham Norton Show'In her new film 'Bad Teacher,' Cameron Diaz got the opportunity to act with her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake. She told 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America) that their shared history actually helped them with the chemistry, and particularly their more intimate scenes.

"It was our goal to make the least sexiest sex scene that's ever been caught on film, and I really believe that we succeeded," she explained. "I don't think we could have achieved it if it was some guy I didn't know."

The familiarity she had with Timberlake allowed them to shake off any jitters they might have about a sex scene and turn it into the awkward beast they were looking for.

Gwyneth Paltrow Shows Off Rap Skills on 'The Graham Norton Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 20th 2011 5:30AM
Gwyneth Paltrow, 'The Graham Norton Show'Gwyneth Paltrow has long proven herself as a so-called "double threat" in the entertainment industry. She's endeared herself as a singer to a whole new generation with her turn as Holly Holiday on 'Glee,' featuring on several hit tracks for the musical series.

Now, thanks to her turn on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America), we can add hardcore ganster rapper to her repertoire.

Graham Norton tried to stump her on '90s hip-hop, but he didn't go very obscure with it. Paltrow immediately identified 'Straight Outta Compton' as the groundbreaking debut album by N.W.A.

More impressively, though, she knew the lyrics to the title track, though she did clarify: "There's one word I can't say." The rest, Norton assured us, could be censored.

Robert Pattinson Tells Graham Norton About Working With an Unpredictable Elephant (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 16th 2011 12:41AM
Robert Pattinson, 'The Graham Norton Show'Animals can be notoriously difficult to work with. According to Robert Pattinson on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America), he especially found it challenging to film one scene with an elephant for his new movie. In the animal's defense, it was a rather specific and awkward scene.

"She was just supposed to be sniffing my crotch," Pattinson explained, but as we saw her trunk was more all over the place, and wound up resting on his chest.

He had to improvise the scene a bit, or try to force what was in the book. The problem? "It's incredibly awkward if you're trying to do the scene and you're like holding her trunk down there." In the end, it was a bizarre scene with the elephant's trunk going "all over the place."

Bradley Cooper Creeps Out Stephen Merchant, Hits on Jo Brand on 'Graham Norton' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 20th 2011 11:19PM
Bradley Cooper, Jo Brand, Stephen Merchant, 'The Graham Norton Show'Bradley Cooper was having more fun on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America) than most talk show guests have anywhere. He was on with comedienne Jo Brand and Stephen Merchant.

First, he took over the interview when Merchant revealed he was setting off on his first solo comedy tour. "Are you headed to the States?" Cooper asked.

"Just one gig in New York," Merchant replied, only to get a very emphatic, "When," from Cooper.

"That was a bit creepy," Graham Norton told Cooper.

Stanley Tucci Got His Role in 'The Devil Wears Prada' Over Graham Norton (VIDEO)

Stanley Tucci, 'The Graham Norton Show'The role of Nigel in 'The Devil Wears Prada' ultimately went to Stanley Tucci, but it was one of the last roles cast. And he faced off against one of his toughest competitors on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America).

It turns out Graham Norton himself was also up for the role of the Art Director.

"I put the work in," Norton said. "I have spent my life preparing!"

"I was probably the last actor in Christendom that they went to," Tucci said, making things even more awkward. "They were shooting the movie already. They had tried to cast everyone and anyone, except me."

Matthew Fox Hated Shooting the Water Sequences of 'Lost' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 7th 2011 12:11AM
Matthew Fox Talks 'Lost,' 'The Graham Norton Show'Somebody got grumpy after getting off The Island. Or at least, that was our first impression of Matthew Fox's interview on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America). But then we took a closer look and realized Norton wasn't interviewing the real Fox at all. Note the goatee.

That's right, it was the 'Mirror Universe' Matthew Fox (like the classic 'Star Trek' story), which goes a long way to explaining all of his negative tales of his time working on the hit show 'Lost.'

"The part of the show that I disliked the most was having to do the water sequences," he said at one point. "I'm not very comfortable in water." Why would someone who hates water put themselves on a show like this?

Kate Hudson, Tinie Tempah talk Hollywood sex, 'The Graham Norton Show'The magic of Hollywood works! Especially when it comes to the art of romance, as evidenced by British rapper Tinie Tempah's question to Kate Hudson on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America). Apparently, he's a huge fan of movies.

"I've always wanted to ask a movie star one question and one question only," he said.

"Make it a good one," Graham Norton advised.

"It seems like sometimes when they do love scenes," he started. "Do they do it for real, sometimes?" That's not Hollywood, Tinie.

P. Diddy, Sarah Millican & Vince Vaughn, 'The Graham Norton Show'When you get a variety of people together, sometimes the most unexpected things can come up in conversation. The ingredients were in place on this week's 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM on BBC America) when the guests were Vince Vaughn, P. Diddy and stand-up comic Sarah Millican.

Millican was talking about an all-too common awkward social moment, and yet one that we generally never talk about. As she said, "There's not a nice way of saying this."

She was interacting with some friends when she "could feel a fart brewing." Millican's suggestion was to have a pre-planned safe word for this situation, as her solution at the time was to start saying "Uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh" over and over again.

Matt LeBlanc Jokes About His Past on 'Friends,' and His Spin-Off 'Joey' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 24th 2011 1:24AM
Matt LeBlanc, 'The Graham Norton Show'Matt LeBlanc may be having a lot of fun playing an exaggerated version of the actor Matt LeBlanc on 'Episodes,' but that persona wouldn't exist if it weren't for the show that made him who he is, 'Friends.' On 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM on BBC America), LeBlanc talked about his experiences on the show.

After all these years, he's still thanking the audiences that tuned in. "Thanks everyone for watching it," he said. "We're all really, really happy." By really, really happy he means they're all still swimming in piles of cash almost a decade later.

Graham Norton then shifted gears to a darker chapter in LeBlanc's life.

Keanu Reeves Was Asked for His Autograph After a Motorcycle Accident (VIDEO)

Keanu Reeves, 'The Graham Norton Show'We've heard tales of celebrities being accosted by fans at restaurants, on the streets, and even in the bathroom. But Keanu Reeves related a tale on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM on BBC America) that has to be one of the most unique encounters between a celebrity and a fan.

In the battle between car and motorcycle, the latter rarely comes out victorious. He may be The One in 'The Matrix,' but in real life, Reeves is just a man. And as a man, he was not able to make decisions quickly enough when faced with an oncoming car as he rode his motorbike.

"I was trying to decide whether to drop the bike or to jump off the bike and go over the car," he said. Unfortunately, before a decision could be made, Reeves found himself sitting on the ground with half a tooth gone, his mouth filling up with blood and the question of whether it was him or his motorcycle that had taken off the guy's bumper.

Matt Smith, 'The Graham Norton Show'After one year on a popular science fiction shows, most actors come to accept the craziness that comes with their loyal fandom. Make that role 'Doctor Who,' and that obsession gets multiplied tenfold.

Matt Smith, who has been portraying the iconic Time Lord for the past season, talked on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat. 10PM on BBCA) about how his grandfather is noticing his success. Particularly when it comes to fan mail; we're sure you can imagine what types of fan mail Smith gets from time to time.

He related the first time his grandfather got involved with looking through and responding to the mail. "The first one he opened started with, 'I want to give you a--'" but rather than finish the off-color thought, Smith nodded twice.
