Hardly Knew You: The Short-Lived Shows of 2010

by Rich Keller, posted Dec 20th 2010 5:40PM
'Lone Star,' which garnered huge pre-season buzz, was cancled by FOX after only two episodes. Not everything is a long-running classic in the fickle world that is television. You may feel that your show has the right mix of acting, writing and directing to be a favorite for indefinite first-run and syndicated airings, but the viewers may have other ideas.

And when that happens, your show could disappear before the cover art is even dry for the complete series DVD set.

The year 2010 had no shortage of these short timers. In fact, the 2010-2011 season has already seen not one, not two but three series that bowed out after only two episodes. The Hoff Talks 'Hamburger Incident' on 'Hasselhoffs' Premiere (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Dec 6th 2010 7:20AM
David Hasselhoff Talks Hamburger Incident on 'Hasselhoffs'In episode one of 'The Hasselhoffs' (Sun., 10PM ET on AETV), the Hoff doesn't shy away from addressing the infamous "hamburger incident" -- wherein one of his daughter's filmed the recovering alcoholic mid-relapse, as the inebriated actor clumsily at a hamburger and writhed, shirtless, on the floor.

In the series premiere, a fellow student in his daughter's college psychology class asks the actor how he deals with negative press, including the release of that videotape.

"It broke my heart because my child was involved," Hasselhoff said of the tape's nationwide broadcast. "With all the kind of negative press that I get because of being an alcoholic, [if] people can look at that and realize that someone in their family has got the same problem and it can help, maybe that's why it happened ... Sometimes life gives you a wake-up call."

'The Hasselhoffs'Even three years after the fact, David Hasselhoff still can't escape the now-infamous "hamburger incident."

In the premiere episode of 'The Hasselhoffs,' the appropriately titled reality show he filmed with his two daughters that debuts on A&E this Sunday, the Hoff wasted no time in addressing his very personal troubles -- to a room full of college students, no less.

In TV Squad's exclusive clip, watch the Hoff speak to students in daughter Taylor's psychology class at the University of Arizona. He gets very candid about his alcoholism and his sadness at the private tape leaking to the tabloids.

Not enough Hoff for you? We'll have an interview with all the Hasselhoffs -- David, Taylor and Hayley -- in a few days.

'The Hasselhoffs' premiere airs Sun., Dec. 5 at 10PM.
