What to Watch for at the Daytime Emmys
The emphasis will be on "entertainment" during the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, set for Sun., June 27 at 9PM ET on CBS.Regis Philbin, a nominee for hosting 'Live With Regis and Kelly,' is the kudofest's emcee. Producers for the awards gala are hoping to draw big numbers with a host of musical acts and star appeal with appearances by Simon Cowell, Susan Lucci and Cirque du Soleil.
Here are 10 highlights to watch for during the live broadcast ...
Whoopi's 'Lion King' Rehearsals on 'The View' (VIDEO)
In a one-time only event, Whoopi Goldberg made a series of cameos in the Broadway version of 'The Lion King' on Jan. 14, including appearances as Rafiki and The Bird Lady. Goldberg originated the voice of Shenzi the Hyena in the original 1994 Disney movie. In this behind-the-scenes footage, which aired on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), Goldberg struggles with dialogue, swings on a vine and briefly reprises her role as the villainous spotted hyena.

Dancing with the Stars: Performance 1 Results

(S09E03) Two nights, two eliminations, and a lot of unnecessary crap until the eliminations. Thus is the Dancing with the Stars elimination process. And we're live. Unfortunately, no outbursts from Macy Gray tonight.
Encore performance – Kelly & Louis – Viennese Waltz – One thing that I loved about the performance was the way that they incorporated the dress into the performance. It still brings Sharon chills.
After a quick recap of the women's performance last night. The eliminations begin with the men first. The first two couples safe are Louie & Chelsie and Aaron & Karina.
CBS rounds up the stars for The Tonys
CBS is rounding up some A-listers to appear at The Tony Awards this year. Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies), Glenn Close (Damages), Richard Griffiths, Laura Linney (John Adams), John Lithgow, Liza Minnelli, Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds), Daniel Radcliffe, Brooke Shields (Lipstick Jungle) and Marisa Tomei will be presenters at this year's award show. As previously announced, Whoopi Goldberg of The View, a Tony-winner herself, will be this year's host. Also, the Tony Award-winning productions The Lion King and Rent will make rare encore performances at this year's gala.
The 62nd Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 15th from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. ET (delayed PT) on CBS. Here's my issue with the Tonys. It's long and it's usually a snore. Do you think this effort to spice up the show will pay off? Does it make you want to tune in?
Come along, Sherman, let's make a movie!
Mr. Peabody and Sherman was one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid. I even have stuffed animals of the two characters somewhere in my apartment. But I still greet this news with more than a little aprehension.
Rob Minkoff, the director who did The Lion King and Stuart Little, is going to direct a big screen version of the cartoon. But the above article doesn't say whether or not its going to be animated or live action. I would assume live action, the way they do big screen versions of all old cartoons nowadays (The Flintstones), probably a mix of live action and animation (Stuart Little, Scooby-Doo).
All I ask is that they don't screw it up. Then again, maybe the fact that they're even considering doing a big screen version of the show has already ruined it.
