The Miz, Genius Behind Conan's 'Ginja Ninja,' Claims Responsibility for 'Jersey Shore'

by Sandra Deane, posted Apr 3rd 2011 11:00AM
The Miz Stars on WWE WrestleMania 27It's been a decade since Mike "The Miz" Mizanin became a reality star on the 10th season of 'The Real World.' This Sunday he'll be defending his WWE championship at 'WrestleMania XXVII' (7PM ET, PPV). Wow, what a difference 10 years makes.

We got a chance to chat with The Miz earlier this week at a NYC 'WrestleMania' press event, where scores of fans invaded the Hard Rock Cafe to chant "awesome" in adoration.

Hot off the heels of his appearance on 'Conan' last week, where he dubbed the late night host "The Ginja Ninja," Miz explained why he felt Conan O'Brien needed a new nickname. "I didn't like Coco," he said. "Coco's not a good superstar name."

He then went on to claim responsibility for the 'Jersey Shore' phenomenon and dished how his fellow pro wrestlers compare to his former 'Real World' castmates.

TV Squad Crashes SyFy's Fancy Party

by Ryan McKee, posted May 27th 2010 5:00PM
The SyFy network threw a fancy bash at New York's Museum of Modern Art, brought out their stars of 'Caprica,' 'Warehouse 13' and 'WWE NXT' and invited the press. What was the occasion? No occasion. They did not even show an episode of anything.

It was an excuse for them to show off to their advertisers and court new ones. Which made it an excuse for us to score a few free cocktails and make a funny video.

Ken Jeong relives his WWE stint with The Miz

by Joel Keller, posted Sep 24th 2009 11:27AM
Ken Jeong on Community TCA panelOn tonight's hilarious second episode of Community, we see the first appearance of Ken Jeong, who's joining the cast as Spanish professor Señor Chang. Chang has a bit of a chip on his shoulder because he always has to fight against Asian stereotypes.

He's a welcome addition to the cast, and he's been having a hell of a summer. Besides his memorable turn in the massive summer hit The Hangover, he was also in All About Steve and The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard. To promote the latter movie, Jeong and co-star Jeremy Piven bounced around the ring on WWE Raw in August. Imagine a tiny guy like the 40-year-old Jeong trading blows with huge wrestlers and you can see the comic potential.

When I talked to Jeong at NBC's party at the TCA press tour, we were interrupted by WWE's The Miz, and the exchange between them was just too funny for me to keep on my hard drive. Audio is after the jump.
