EXCLUSIVE: 'The Office' Covers 'Closing Time' (VIDEO)
by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 3rd 2011 10:45AM
Some days, we really wish Andy Bernard was our boss. OK, more like most days, but then we would probably never get any work done. In fact, does anyone at Dunder Mifflin ever do any work?Judging from this exclusive clip of tonight's episode of 'The Office,' that looks like a no. But if you had to ask us what we would rather be doing at 5PM on a weeknight -- working or jamming out to Semisonic's 'Closing Time' -- we would definitely choose the latter.
'The Office' is known for their completely random cold opens, but this just might rank as one of our all-time favorites. It could be the 90's nostalgia or Andy's uninhibited desire to have an "end of the day tradition," but there's something about this clip that just makes us want to go home.

Andy's New Incentive Program Goes Over Big on 'The Office' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 30th 2011 3:00AM
Oddly enough, considering the big deal made out of casting James Spader this season, what this week's episode of 'The Office' (Thu., 9PM ET on NBC) proved was that they really don't need him to succeed. The ensemble is so strong by now, they're holding the show together just fine. That said, Spader was perfect this week. He's there to inspire and terrify the office, and keep everyone on their toes. But Andy has stepped up beautifully into Michael's shoes with a completely different but equal level of awkwardness.
Steve Carell: James Spader is An 'Excellent Choice' For 'The Office'
by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 19th 2011 10:30AM
The new 'Office' boss has Michael Scott's blessing ... sort of.Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott on 'The Office' for seven years, said he thinks James Spader is a great addition to 'The Office' cast.
"I think it's an excellent choice," Carell told Access Hollywood. "I think it's great and he will infuse all this new energy into the show."
'Boston Legal' veteran Spader will reprise his role from the Season 7 finale, Robert California, and replace Kathy Bates' CEO character. Spader's character originally interviewed for Michael Scott's vacated branch manager position. Fans will learn the character was hired to run the Scranton branch, but then quickly worked his way up the corporate ladder to become the CEO of Dunder Mifflin Sabre.
