Stephen Colbert Likely to Decline Invite to Participate in Wisconsin Protest (VIDEO)

On 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), Stephen Colbert responded to a sign from the continuing protest in Wisconsin over public sector union rights that requested he come to Wisconsin and join up with the cause. The sign read "Stewart/Colbert we came to your rally now come to ours," in a reference to the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear that Colbert and Jon Stewart held last October in Washington, DC.
"First of all it's Stephen Colbert, I don't know who 'Stewart Colbert' is, get it right" Colbert quipped, in response to the protesters 1,000 miles away.
Then he explained he would only come to their rally in the unlikely event they booked Ozzy Osbourne, Cat Stevens, Sheryl Crow and the O'Jays, all of whom performed at the Rally to Restore Sanity.
The Best Moments From Jon Stewart's 'Rally to Restore Sanity' (VIDEO)

This weekend, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert held their 'Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear' (Sat., 12PM ET on Comedy Central). The rally was a counterpart to Glenn Beck's 'Restoring Honor' march, held a few months back. The goal was to share political views in an inoffensive manner. Moderation was the ideal; Stewart showed video clips of media figures (such as Mr. Beck) who supposedly used polarizing speech.
Since the event was hosted by comedians, the whole thing was a joke -- or was it? A bunch of celebs attended, including Ozzy Osbourne, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow. But Stewart stopped the music and jokes to deliver this message: "I thought we might have a moment ... for some sincerity. ... I can't control what people think this was. I can only tell you my intentions."

You don't have to look far to find celebrities at the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear today. Waldo, for example. There were at least five Waldos milling about. Charlie Chaplin. And those were just the people in costume.Holding a massive rally the day before Halloween is no doubt responsible for many of the folks in costume. Bears. Orcs. A couple of guys in full American flag body suits looking for their buddies from Reddit.
And there were also real celebrities, like the Roots, Mythbusters Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, Jeff Tweedy and Mavis Staples, and, of course, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. A few shots of weirdness and wonderfulness from the Rally.
