Vicki Tells Tamra About Her Marriage Falling Apart on 'Real Housewives of OC' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted May 23rd 2011 5:31AM
Tired of living a public lie of happiness and contentedness, Vicki opened up to Tamra on 'The Real Housewives of Orange County' (Sun., 10PM ET on Bravo). It was hard hearing her talk about how empty emotionally and intimately her marriage has become. Unless you've been there, we'd imagine it's impossible to fathom the depths of loneliness and sadness such an existence can lead to.Especially when you're putting on a brave face for friends and family. "We're not intimate at all," Vicki confided. "All I wanna do is be touched. Just a hug at the end of the day."
The biggest reason she'd kept it inside for so long was because she felt like a failure, having failed yet again in a marriage. But is this collapse of their intimacy really her fault? Marriage is a two-way street and it takes two to decide to simply part ways when they get home, rarely seeing one another much less talking or hugging.
Seven shows that need funny commentators more than American Idol
by Danny Gallagher, posted Sep 22nd 2009 11:05AM
American Idol's choice of Ellen DeGeneres as a judge replacement threw everyone for a loop, even schlubs like me who don't watch the show. It's not that she's not talented, successful or funny. It's just an odd choice, putting a comedian on the show that takes its goal of crushing losers' dreams on live television so seriously. It would evoke the same reaction from me if they picked Andrew "Dice" Clay as the new judge, if the Diceman was talented, successful or funny.
And besides, why do they need humor and comedy on such an otherwise serious show? There are lots of humorless, vapid and downright boring shows that are crying out for comedic interjection.
