Snooki's poof apparently doesn't work its magic on Republicans.

A new study by Experian-Simmons found conservative-leaning viewers tend to favor reality programming like 'Dancing With the Stars,' 'The Bachelor,' 'The Biggest Loser,' 'MythBusters,' but one exception to that trend was 'Jersey Shore.' Also among GOP favorites is the History Channel's block of programming: 'Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy,' 'American Pickers,' and 'Swamp People.'

Two other popular liberal shows, 'Glee' and 'Modern Family,' topped the conservative list last year, but are no longer two of the favorite shows among Republican viewers, according to EW. They did, however, still rank high with those on the more liberal end of the political spectrum.

All it took was a one night stand at band camp to change Amy Juergens' life forever. Now with a young son, Amy spends her high school years as a teen mom while while trying to maintain a semblance of a normal teenage life.

It's been a long time (nearly six months!) since 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' (Monday, 8PM on ABC Family) aired all-new episodes. Who better to refresh your memory than the stars of the show themselves?

We caught up with stars Shailene Woodley and Daren Kagasoff, who play teen parents Amy and Ricky, at the ABC Family upfronts to get the scoop on the new season.

The stars were tight-lipped, but Woodley did promise one thing would continue to make an appearance in the new episodes: drama.

"There's definitely a lot of drama," she said. "That's my go-to phrase to not say too much!"

In a case of art imitating life, Bristol Palin makes her acting debut playing a single, teen mom who befriends Amy at a music program on 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' (Mon, 8PM ET on ABC Family).

In one of the most fitting guest-star casting decisions ever, Bristol Palin (daughter of Sarah Palin) who garnered national notoriety for getting pregnant at the age of 17 during her mom's vice presidential campaign, is set to play herself July 5 on 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager.'

Palin will interact with the show's main character, Amy, who gave birth to a son after getting pregnant before her freshman year of high school. The girls will meet at a band camp for teenage mothers.

Another character on the show, Adrien, played by Francia Raisa, also just learned she is pregnant after a one-night stand and is deciding between keeping the baby or terminating the pregnancy.

Palin and Raisa talked to TV Squad about the cameo and their shared favorite TV show. Plus, Palin also spoke about the show's message against pre-marital sex and what she'll tell her now 1-year-old son, Tripp, about abstinence when the time comes.

'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' is like so many other families and friendships, where if you look at it from the outside, it's easy to solve all of their problems. I kept saying to myself during this episode, if everyone would just talk to each other other, things would be so much better.

If Adrian had told Ben about the pregnancy, that would have helped his angst over, well, everything really.

That Ashley is one sad puppy, isn't she? I don't know if she's just being 15 or if she's clinically depressed, but she's definitely got some issues. Everyone around her -- well, if you count Amy, Adrian and Anne as everyone -- is getting pregnant, and yet, I'm still not sure she gets that it's a bad idea. Yes, she pressured her dad to let her get birth control pills, but that means she's thinking about having sex and, well, mistakes happen.

At any rate, wouldn't it be something if both Amy and Ashley got pregnant by the same guy?! It could happen! Ricky's sort of stuck on her at the moment.

ABC Family's tagline these days is "a new kind of family" and, apparently, that includes families where the teenagers are having sex. Whether that mirrors real life or not, the network definitely seems to be going for an edgier vibe lately, leaning more towards The CW than the Disney Channel.

Season 3 of 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' premiered last night, and even though I've been watching the show since the beginning, the title still makes me laugh. There's really nothing secretive about these teens' lives. Everyone seems to know everything, including who's sleeping with whom, who's lying, and who is (or might be) pregnant. Well, that last one is a stickler, for sure.

What happened on this week's 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' season 2 episode 13, 'You Don't Know What You've Got' -- in 100 words or less.

'Secret Life' is back, which means more sex, lust, and awkward conversations! While Amy and Anne consider extending their getaway with the babies, Ricky grows a spine and tells Amy to bring John home.

Meanwhile, the teens ditch school and head for the beach. Grace and Jack play cat and mouse, while Ben welcomes (or not) his Italian squeeze Maria. New counselor Dr. Bink (Mayim Bialik from 'Blossom'!) wreaks havoc and tries to live down her own past (really? taking a kid to the prom?)

Teens in couples therapy, teens with a baby, teens breaking up because one's pressuring the other to have sex. -- holy high school drama!
The show -- which was originally scheduled to return on January 11 -- will now premiere Mon., Jan. 4, 8PM on ABC Family. Better yet: 12 new episodes have been ordered, which means there's plenty of nasty hallway glares to come.

For my daughter's twelfth birthday, she decided to have four of her friends sleep over, and it turned out to be the same night that The Secret Life of the American Teenager season two was premiering. OK, she actually sort of planned it that way. All but one of her friends is allowed to watch the show, and she managed to talk her mom into it "just this once." I totally respect that. I write a family movie column and have kids of my own, so I'm fairly in tune with what is and isn't appropriate for various age groups.

I watched a few episodes of Secret Life last season, and while the subject matter isn't geared for little kids, it seemed OK for kids twelve and older. But this season, it seems like the show has really kicked the sex talk up several notches. Yes, I know it's a show about a teenager who gets pregnant and is forced to deal with the consequences. I'm ok with that. It shows kids that there are consequences, and that sex shouldn't be taken lightly.

I haven't jumped on the Blu-ray wagon yet. I know, I know, it's supposed to be "better," but I have all of these individual season sets that aren't Blu-ray and I don't know if I want to get rid of the older ones (or sell them) and get new ones. They'd really have to have a ton of extras (and ones that I'm interested in) on them for me to get them. A better picture doesn't really excite me. So I won't be getting the Lost sets being released this week.

As a TV Squad contributor who, admittedly, could be considered a "niche viewer" (in that I watch few shows, but never miss an episode), I was naturally hesitant to check out Roommates on ABC Family. A friend guaranteed me that the show was not only as bad as one might expect, but that it was so utterly, bafflingly wretched that investing thirty minutes in it turned out way more entertaining than I'd expected, and not just in the so-bad-it's-funny way, either.

Roommates is so atrocious, its production should be considered a criminal offense, considering that, even as a basic cable program, hundreds of thousands of dollars (at the very least) have surely been invested in the show. And that's money that could have easily gone toward refugees or food banks or, say, into the budget of ABC Family's other critically lauded programming like Greek or Secret Life of The American Teenager.

It's taken nearly 10 years, but the feature film 10 Things I Hate About You is being made into a TV show. Well, a pilot anyway. We'll see if it goes the distance. This project has a few things going for it:

1) It's on ABC Family, which has done a fabulous job with their programming. Have you watched the network lately? This is edgy stuff that's like the next step up from Nickelodeon and Disney Channel: Lincoln Heights, Greek, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager top the list.

2) The cast is great. Some you might have heard of, others not: Lindsey Shaw, Meaghan Jette Martin, Kyle Kaplan, Nicholas Braun and Ethan Peck. That's him, pictured. He's the grandson of Gregory Peck, and he kind of looks like him, doesn't he?
