Wayans and Dick weigh in on the N-word
by Julia Ward, posted Dec 7th 2006 2:32PM
A couple of more TV celeb-related incidents post-Michael Richards rant have been making the news. First up, Andy Dick. You know him from News Radio, Less than Perfect and his MTV series The Assistant. He jumped on the stage at the Improv during Ian Bragg's set and, in an attempt at "too soon" humor, brandished the n-bomb. He's been apologizing ever since. A legitimately funny and meaningful use of the "n-word," however, came from Damon Wayans' of Showtime's The Underground. Wayans took the stage at the now famous Laugh Factory last night with a stack of twenties. Since Richards' rant, the club owner has banned the word - levying a $20 per usage fee and three month ban on any comedian who uses the word. Wayans proceeded to drop the n-word sixteen times saying, "I'll be damned if the white man uses that word last." That's $320 price tag for a little freedom of speech, if you're counting.

At 8, ABC has a new Ugly Betty, followed by a new episode of Grey's Anatomy and then a repeat Desperate Housewives. - CBS has a new Survivor at 8, then new episodes of CSI and Shark.

It's followed by a new Thanksgiving Tyler's Ultmate and the new special Rachael Ray's Thanksgiving in 60 2, which I assume means this is her second special about Thanksgiving in 60 minutes, not a Thanksgiving meal in 602 minutes.
- At 9, HGTV has a new Divine Design.
- TLC has a new Overhaulin' at 10.
- Also at 10: Showtime has a new ep of The Underground.
- At 10:30, Comedy Central has a new Freak Show.
Fall Preview and more: TV Guide in 60 seconds
by Bob Sassone, posted Sep 9th 2006 1:59PM
It's the annual Fall Preview Issue. Not as good as TV Guide Fall Previews of the past, but still a cool guide. - Matt Roush loves the new season of The Wire and MI-5, but Damon Wayan's new comedy sketch show The Underground? Not so much.
- A TV Guide exclusive: an interview with Comic Book Guy!
- ESPN is ready for some football.
- An interview with Scrubs star Zach Braff.
